From Adagio Teas

Berry Blast is a delicious blend of natural fruits and spices that brews up a mouthwatering cup of herbal tea. Entirely caffeine-free, this blend holds a special appeal for kids and sweet-toothed adults. The flavor is all-natural, emanating from black currants, cranberries, raspberries, elderberries, bilberries, hibiscus flowers, and rosehip peels. The cup has a bold and slightly tart flavor, with a juicy clean finish.

I received this sample from a cupboard clearout from Meowster a year ago, thanks Meowster! Since I tend to like fruity herbals like this iced, I used it up as a cold brew. The amount of leaf I had was able to brew up a liter and a half of cold brewed iced tea.

This is your typical dark red hibi-hip fruit tea; I don’t add sweeteners to my hibi-hip teas (since I actually like the tart/tangy notes of hibiscus and can take it like a champ) and have to say I actually find this one relatively sweet, myself (hibi-haters would probably disagree with my assessment, though). There is a slight bit of fruity tanginess toward the end of the sip but mostly it comes off quite sweet and punchy to me, and I’m getting notes of blueberry and a pithy sort of raspberry specifically, with a more general red berries/fruit punch flavor.

It’s a fine iced tea for folks like me that enjoy fruity hibi-hip teas. And for those that don’t like a certain red flower, I’m sure it’s “overly tart” and “hibiscus ruins everything” and “why can’t they just make fruit teas that don’t have hibiscus” blah blah blah I’ve been trying to catch up four months worth of Steepster reading for ages now and probably need a break because can you tell I read that a lot? I read that a lot.

Well, I thought this was fine, at least, but nothing that particularly stood out from any other fruity hibi-hip tea. I’m glad I got to try it, though!

Recommended steep time of 5-10 minutes. Drinkable but weird. Tastes and smells like the Mr. Sketch grape marker. Tasted 10.2018

Sipdown Number 2!
Welp. We will try this again. I drank this yesterday and intended on reviewing it but the page didn’t work. So here we go today. Although this is my first review it is actually the sipdown. This is the end of a sample package I got from Adagio. Smell in pouch is very overpowering. It’s smells like you are nose first in a berry basket. The color when brewed is a deep purple/pink, reflective of the Hibiscus. The first sip, without sweetener, is unfortunately quite tart, to the point of sour. Too much rosehips and hibiscus I believe. So one splenda goes in. Still a bit too tart. Half of a second splenda goes in. Ahhhh, There’s that berry sweetness. Now it is actually quite nice. The sweetener brings out the flavors of the brew other than hibiscus and rose hips. You can actually taste berry this way. I still taste the hibiscus and rosehips but I can also taste cranberries and a touch of currant. It’s like a bright berry party in my mouth this way. The flavor is very strong, but then I did steep for 7 minutes. I’m going to change things up a bit and recommend this one, even though many people may require sweetener for it to taste right. Mainly because it is just SO GOOD when I add the 1.5 splendas. I wonder what this would be like with honey? All in all, I will likely be getting this one again. The need for sweetener added is unfortunate, as I feel a good tea should stand alone. But, the full body, rich flavor of this when added sweetener is so delicious that I will stand by it regardless.

Tea box sample. It’s mostly a tart berry flavor. It tastes pretty good sweetened, but probably not good enough to buy over other similar options. It’s not really fresh and authentic enough. The resteep was weird.

This tea has a heavy hibiscus flavor and a milder berry flavor. I would recommend this if you are a fan of hibiscus.

This was snuck into into my order by Adagio when I picked up the Sean Bean death teas. Since I was having pizza for dinner, a meal that often is paired with soda, I decided to make a teapop to go with it. Berry teas tend to make nice teapops and this is no exception. It’s flavorful enough that I still get berry flavor but not overpowering or cloying. I think I still prefer Bear Trap as my berry tea but I can’t complain about getting to try something new especially when it was free.

Finally, I’m able to review again! (Blaming my computer.) I’ve sipped t his one a few times and really enjoyed it. It’s definitely fruity—not sugary sweet, but fruity—with a beautiful deep blush colour and marvellous, well-rounded flavour with just the right amount of tang. There’s a bit of cherry in it, though I don’t think there’s cherry IN it.

There’s a little green in it—not green tea or green grass, but sort of like raspberry leaves (which I don’t really recommend making a habit of, but that’s what it made me think of). Not a lot, just enough to add depth. A very good tea—consumed without sweetners, by the way—that I’ll definitely be buying again.

Very tasty alone and mixed, though I think it is best iced. It will replace juice for those people who love the taste but hate how much sugar there is in each cup!!

I got about a dozen samples from Adagio recently and I’m loving them. The great dehydrating experiment has ended and I have enough apple ginger tisane to last a few years, but it was time for a

I’ve been looking for a nice berry tisane to buy in bulk that isn’t stupid expensive. I want to be able to mix it with guayusa or maté or bai mu dan or whatever I feel like. I like this a lot even though the name makes me cringe. It’s just a nice berry mash up, like a grown up “red” flavor. For the price point it’s pretty terrific but I’m going to try a few more fruit tisanes before settling on a staple.

A much better tasting herbal for me in comparison to Adagio Fruit Medley. This one I could see enjoying iced in the summertime out on the patio. However, this cup was a hot one as it is Winter. I will update in the summer!
