Stovetop preparation: 6 oz water, 6 oz milk, 2 tsp tea, a spoonful of honey.
I am tempted to take the cardamom out of here to use on my sweet potatoes later. I went to the store and found they want $11 for a jar of cardamom LOL Instead I’m gonna do curry powder. Anyway, yeah, I just realized I should have gone to the Penzey’s up the street.
Derp.
I almost feel like I put too much honey in here. But that’s okay, it definitely tastes like a gingerbread cookie!
I used to hate getting 52teas Chais because I never really understood how to make it right…stovetop is the way.

I just bought 3 sweet potatoes today and have no idea how to cook them! Any tips/recipes from you ladies? Stovetop? Baked?
The recipe for the soup starts out with baking chunks of sweet potato for 20 minutes in a 400 degree oven, I think if you kept them whole it’d be double the time. I’m going to use this for the next round of sweet potatoes I get from my box too and make lettuce wraps. I think 20 minutes is also a good bit of time for boiling them on the stove.
Jealous of your box – all the CSAs in the area here are filled up – not taking any new custies! :B

Awww booo. This one is with a farm based in Alabama, but most of their drop offs are in Atlanta and one is just down the street which is PERFECT. They get stuff from farms in a couple other states too which I am thankful for BECAUSE ORANGES.

The worst part is I always forget it’s there, but I think I’ve subconsciously done so in order to not buy the entire store. It’s in a shopping center of wallet drainers too.
I am going to have to try this chai this way! I just made “turmeric milk” last week – a spice, honey, and rice milk mixture that’s good for sore throats/earaches. Really, that was no different than making stovetop chai I think (except the lack of tea!).
