This is about as close to a perfect tea as I can think of. I’ve been looking for a substitute to Teavana’s White Ayurvedic Chai for a while (due to high price, and being a white tea it was a hassle getting the temp right etc). I think I’ve finally found an amazing alternative in The Spice is Right!! It tastes like cinnamon hearts candy. I drank it with vanilla agave and some brown sugar, and it was suuuper sweet, so I think next time I’ll hold back on the sweetener a bit to see what it’s like straight. I’m thinking it’ll be perfect. LOVE.

I’ve come to notice that I tend to gravitate towards teas with similar flavours: cinnamon, cardamon, nutty, naturally sweet, a bit spicy etc. Bubbie’s Baklava is a tea that covers just about all of those flavours. I absolutely love that it’s an oolong (a type of tea I haven’t tried much of), as I’m able to get at least three steeps out of it (might try for more later). I’ve tried with with agave, brown sugar and 2% milk froth. While it is delicious, it’s not a super unique tea. The first steep, I brewed it for about 3 min, then the next two times I just kept the tea bag in the whole time.

I tried Oh Canada with some agave, brown sugar and 2% milk. The main flavour is definitely maple syrup, and adding some sweetener really brings out that flavour.

I really enjoy this tea as a latte (with milk, foam + sugar). I’m someone who keeps the tea bag in the whole time I drink because I like teas to taste strong. With Bollywood Chai, since it’s a black tea, it makes sense that when kept in over recommended steep time it gets a bit bitter. As a latte, I’m able to keep the bag in the whole time and it tastes really great! It’s not the best chai I’ve had, but I’m sad to see DT discontinue this one because I do enjoy it quite a bit.
