812 Tasting Notes
Adagio Advent Calendar Day 12
I quite liked this one. It did not taste medicinal. But more than just a peppermint tea. I re-steeped it too and it was just as good on the second steep. This cup as timely as I had to go to the walk in clinic Thursday after work, and that stupid radiation pneumonitis is back. My oxygen is a bit low at 92 and I can’t stop coughing. Breathing is a little harder. Not that I can’t breathe. Of course I can breathe. But I wheeze and cough. My oncologist wanted to see me so he squeezed me in Friday afternoon. He thinks prednisone is the way to go, but it really messes with my blood glucose. So he added a different inhaler to my usual rescue inhaler and told me very firmly to call on Monday if I don’t see improvement. Hmm… Anyway, I did enjoy this one. I do have David’s Cold 911 which is also good.
This may be a re-order.
Adagio Advent Calendar Day 9
I am not sure what to say about this tea. I found it a bit underwhelming. On the plus side, the hibiscus did out sour me out. There was a slight zing of tartness that at first I thought might be from the cranberries, but then thought it might be from the hibiscus. I just didn’t get much flavor from it. I drank most of the cup. If a friend served this I could drink it but it would not be part of a future order.
Adagio Advent Calendar Day 8
Wow. I found this one extremely sour. Not too surprising since the first ingredient listed is hibiscus. I didn’t get any other flavor from it. I had an Adagio tea a few nights ago that was pretty tart but I was able to drink it. This one got tipped down the drain after 3 sips. Someone who enjoys the tart zing of hibiscus might really love this one.
I’m not really complaining, though, because one of the things about an advent calendar is that I get to try teas that I wouldn’t normally buy. Who knows, something that I wouldn’t buy could end up being a new favorite. And without an advent surprise I would miss it. So bring on the hibby and everything else!
Preparation
Adagio Advent Calendar Day 6
Chamomile? Ugh! Not a fan. HOWEVER, I kinda liked this one. I think it was the peppermint that saved it for me. Not enough to re-order, but I could certainly drink it again.
I honestly don’t remember which advent from Adagio I ordered, but I am going to assume I got a non caffeine one, since every tea so far has been herbal. I quite like that, as my habit is to sit down with a cup shortly before bed while I do my advent devotional.
Preparation
Adagio Advent Calendar Day 4
This was nice, with an earthy spicy flavor. I think my problem with these cinnamon rooibos teas is that I compare them to Good Earth’s Sweet and Spicy, and so far, nothing beats that one. So this is a perfectly good tea but I will not be ordering this one.
Adagio Advent Calendar Day 5
This was quite tart due to the hibiscus. I am NOT a fan of hibiscus because to me it is simply sour. Others may find the zing of hibiscus to be pleasantly tart.
I was able to finish most of the cup, but this will certainly not be a re-order for me.
Preparation
I’ve had a bag of this tea forever. I think I picked it up at a hotel breakfast buffet a few years ago. I finally decided to steep it last night.
Ugh. Nope. Very tang-y. Like, sour tangy, and a bit musty. It was very old, so that may explain the must. It sure sounded good. Maybe it would have been better when the tea bag was fresh. Definitely not one I would pick up again.
Just one more day before I start on my Adagio advent calendar. I’m looking forward to it. I’ve had Adagio teas in the past and wasn’t much impressed. But I’ve had several of their samples in the past month or so, and I’ve enjoyed several of their teas now. Either they have improved or I have changed my taste. Don’t know which, but I am looking forward to their tea advent calendar!

That sounds yucky! I hope you feel better quickly, Maddy!
Oof, hope you feel better soon!
Thanks! I am staying home from church today. The church does have a live stream of the service. I can knit and sip tea while I watch.
That sounds like a good recipe for healing. Hope you feel better soon!
Ugh, hope you’re feeling a better soon!
(Minus the errant “a”…)
wishing you well, Maddy.
