drank Momoko by Lupicia

Momo box tea! I had this in the morning as my calm before the storm I’m a bridesmaid and this weekend is totally taken over by wedding stuff.

As for the tea itself, it was ok. Nice base and overly flowery decor. I didn’t get any each in this. Oh well. Not bad, but not overly impressed.

Anna

It is definitely underpeached, but Lupicia’s bases are so good (I know, I go on and on about this) I rarely mind their underflavoured teas at all.

CHAroma

I really like this one. It grew on me over time.

Fuzzy_Peachkin

Anna- The base was pretty good!

Charoma- I have a few more cups worth to play with, so I’ll have to see if it grows on me.

I finished off my little packet of this, but I have a 1 oz paccket ready and waiting. I had this in my travel mug this morning. ( Sacrilege! I know! ) It brought out the roasted flavor more actually Probably because I left steeping for more than I would normally. Still good this way!

I had a small pot of this at lunch with my croque monsieur at a little French Cafe neaar work. This is a lovely breakfast blend. It starts out golden sweet like an assam and the flavor builds with the power of a non-bitter, fruity ceylon. There is a delicate natural citrus note in this as well This was a very relaxing lunch! I needed it as today is a madhouse at work!

Stephanie

Sounds like a pleasant lunch!

Fuzzy_Peachkin

It was just what I needed! :-)

Thanks, Nicole_Martin!

Well My sister cold-steeped this and since it was the only cold thing in the fridge I decided t have it tonight even though I had meant to try this before a run on the first time. This brew certainly invigorating- spicy cinnamon, sweet berries, and a refreshing herbal taste all combine to awake the senses. I’ll definitely have this again.

Thanks, Greenteafairy for this tea!

The only English on this tea was the brand name, Ssangkye Tea, so I don’t know much about. The dryleaf is very light and looks more like an herbal tea because it has flower petals, bits of flowers and fruit pieces. Could there also be yabao? Tastes a little woody, sweet too.

greenteafairy

Unfortunately I have no idea what’s in this – the brand website is only available in Korean, and I had no luck trying to track down info elsewhere. I thought it was an herbal, but I actually haven’t tried yabao yet so maybe that’s in there too? I’d be interested to find out more about it.

Fuzzy_Peachkin

It kind of did look like the Silver Buds yabao from verdant, but not as pretty. lol

drank Classic Chai by Teajo Teas
464 tasting notes

I got this at the NYC meet-up, but I can’t remember if it was from Greenteafairy or if it was from Nicole_Martin. Thank you, whichever one of you gave it to me! I need to start labeling my teas a little better. :-)

I drank this straight without anything in it. I really liked that I could taste the Assam. So many chais are so overly-spiced that you can’t taste the tea itself. This assam has the golden, sweet, and malty taste that I’m growing to really love. The spices are a nice blend- maybe slightly too heavy with the cardamon. I’m really craving some honey for this. I should start keeping some at work.

greenteafairy

That was from me! It’s interesting that you found it heavy on the cardamom, because I couldn’t taste any – I found it cinnamon-heavy, actually. I tried to make sure I mixed the bag up thoroughly before making each cup, but I’m wondering if I did a bad job of that… Agreed on the base, though; it is nice!

Fuzzy_Peachkin

I really didn’t pick up that much cinnamon. I read your note after and I liked it because it wasn’t to heavy on the spices and I think you mentioned that you preferred ones that are more spicy! It’s funny how we all taste things differently!

drank Jade Oolong by Drink T

This oolong is spring-like with a brisk astringency and mild spiciness that I’m trying to decide whether I like or not. There is a bit of creaminess and strong floral note, which reminds me of jasmine. There is a mineral quality to the aftertaste.

Sad sipdown! I probably should have bought more of this with my last order. This definitely is the never-ending gobstopper of tea. It’s always changing. A different aspect is highlighted every time I drink it.

Ah well! I’m sticking to promise to myself not. To do any on-line ordering until Black Friday. The blends sale is not helping me in this. Lol! So far I’m strong.
Terri HarpLady

This is another one I love :)

Alysha

I have a few cups worth of this that I doubt I will get to; I could send it to you if you like :)

Terri HarpLady

Seriously? You don’t like it?

Alysha

I do like it but I’ve been in an oolong rut for a while, so I figure it’s better used on someone who’s craving it rather than just sitting in my cupboard!

Terri HarpLady

There you go Fuzzy! What a nice offer! :)

Fuzzy_Peachkin

yes! I accepted her lovely offer and messaged her! I love this tea! :-)

Terri HarpLady

I love Steepster! We are all the nicest people we’ll ever meet! :)

Fuzzy_Peachkin

Indeed! Everyone is really nice on here!

Stoo

It must be the calming effect of tea :-)

I made an extra strong 3 steeps of this in the morning during work. I really enjoy this one. See other notes for details.

I run, I sing, I drink tea. That’s the best description I have of me.

I’ve always enjoyed tea, but have just started trying out a lot more loose teas and varied brands. I’m really excited about a site like steepster so I can read about what people think about different teas.

Oh and I really hate Lipton tea. There’s something just awful about it and I can’t understand why nearly every local diner only has Lipton.

Also I’m on the search for a full-bodied, fruity blackberry tea. So if you have any suggestions feel free to throw them my way! :-)
