Does anyone have any ideas on the MY zen tea ancient pu er with rose buds in it? It is not listed on their website so I’m not really sure if this is a Steepster-curated blend or if this was something available but now is not.

I bought it at a tea expo a few years ago (pre-pandemic), so I’m not surprised that it’s not on their website anymore. Sorry!

So jealous! I really want to go to a tea expo! And no worries! I just wanted to verify whether it was a created blend or not. It’s an interesting tea! I’m going to make a post for it anyway XD

I hope you like it! I bought it back before I realized that my body doesn’t react well to pu’erh, so I’m glad to have had a chance to pass it on to a tea person.

Have you tried different types of pu erh by chance? I found that I don’t do well with sheng (green/raw) but I do well with the shuo… shu whatever lol

Kaylee said

I tried a few different types but not a super thorough exploration, since it kept triggering migraines. I could give shou a try and see what happens!

T_T oh my gosh I’m sorry. Migranes are not fun to deal with. The other thing I was thinking about was Yamabuki Nadeshiko. It’s one of Japan’s dark teas that is made with Koji mold. I have some if you’d like to try it.

I would love to be added to the next round thus goes out and I promise to keep it moving forward better!

I definitely have plenty to share. _ It might take me a little while to get it all together for a new box but ill get there ^^;

Would love to participate in this again this year whenever. I think as long as I am not in receiving the box in October or November 2023, I should have no problem participating. :)

I’d also love to participate in the next round!

Would you guys like to do a ttb that’s a lil more involved? In the class I’m currently taking we are testing and tasting different terroir and some of them are blind tastings to see if we can guess where it’s from based off of the previous teas. I thought it would be fun to put together something like that

Shae said

I tend to prefer flavored blends and definitely don’t have the refined palate so many others here do, so I don’t think I’d be an ideal participant. I would be glad to start a second box though if there are people who want a bit of both.

AJRimmer said

I think this is a great idea in general, but I am also like Shae so I don’t think I’d be a good participant for this either.

getanzt said

With all of my food allergies I have to be careful on tea ingredients, so I’d have to pass on that one.

Sounds like a fun idea, but I don’t think I have the kind of time to dedicate to something that involved, but, like Shae, I’m also happy to get a regular box started. I have more than enough in my giveaway/swap pile to start a new box.

vallhallow said

I would be more than happy to participate in either or both. I have plenty of flavored/blended tea and plenty of straight teas.

It might be worth creating a couple new discussions labeled as 2023 for both the TTB for all teas and TTB for specifically straight teas and see if new/old steepsters are interested.

I consider taking part again, but I would like not to be first (so I can try tea from many) and I would prefer “original” way too, though I like plain teas as well. But it’s interesting idea for sure.

I’d love to participate in both TTBs (assuming the second one happens)!

Skysamurai said

Oh it definitely will ^^; I’m just trying to get through samples first. And Jan has been a bit busy.
