Nice, but not like the usual creamy black chai. It’s spicy, fizzy and it needs getting used to (at least for me).

So when I bought this tea, I wasn’t expecting much because I wasn’t paying much. First few sips… I definitely wasn’t impressed. I compared it to Raman noodles… you never say “man I want raman”, but when you’re eating raman you eat every noodle. However, I now use two bags and just steep for less time. The fuller body really does add that extra ‘oomf’ that I thought was missing from my brews. It is worth noting that even though this is really whole leaf, there’s also a lot of dust too (incase you’re like me and open up the bags normally).

Uncle Lee’s Pu’erh is also tasty. :)

Wonks

I have a humble confession- I’ve never actually had Pu-erh…. so I just ordered some. Thanks for the heads up Amy!

TeaBrat

It’s a good one to start with, I think!

Hmmm. Given my love for almonds and hunt for the perfect chai, this seemed promising. At first sip, it seemed to deliver! but by the end of the cup… it was still good… except for the splenda/stevia like flavour coming out. Now, I added milk so perhaps without it would do better? but then it’d be an anti-chai!
The cinnamon and almond work really well together to create a smooth and spicy tisane. However, I can only guess at which ingredient is making me question the unnatural sweetness. Is carob naturally sweet like that? It IS the first ingredient… but I have never seen it in a tea before. or perhaps it is the orange peel. Either way, it’s an interesting bedtime drink that I could foresee-ably drink in the evenings in lieu of a camellia sinensis tea.
and hey, no sugar required here! :)

Eisenherz

Yeah, carob is pretty sweet, and its sweetness comes with a particular flavour that not everyone likes…!

Indigobloom

ahh thanks Eisenherz! good to know, I will keep that in mind :)
I like the carob “chocolate” so maybe I can find a way to like this…

Vary nice for a jasmine, the jasmine is very strong though, sort of like drinking perfume, I think it would be better with a shorter steeping time. Around 2 mins?

I think, for me, jasmine teas typically have too much jasmine in them. I love the aroma and delicate flavor, but it’s just too much. I would prefer just a slight hint of jasmine.

As far as jasmine greens go, this is almost as good as any I’ve tried. I’m still working on the best steeping time. I steep it with 1 bag in my 32-oz pot. I used to do 3 or 3.5 minutes. Now, I think 1 minute might be best. No matter what, the jasmine always seems to be too strong for me, making it difficult to drink much of it.

I have seen this brand in Asian groceries and my local store, and I love jasmine so had to try it. This was just too much jasmine for me.

I think it’s more jasmine than green tea! It honestly tasted like drinking a perfume. I am learning I am not a fan of teas where it’s too floral.

It’s that time of year again. To prevent myself from becoming so congested that I can’t sing, I’m using everything from my neti pot to this tea with honey and lemon. I can’t really rate this right now, since my sense of taste is kind of shot. I think I taste the honey more than anything else.

Put water in the microwave for 3 minutes. Maybe I didn’t leave in the tea bag long enough, but it had sufficient flavor. It’s a nice, pure green tea, I think. It got a little bitter at the bottom, but I let it sit for a while. I’m sitting at the computer, sorting out what I have left to do for the wedding. We got a lot done today, and having a cup of tea is a nice way to unwind :)

Comparitively, this cuppa kicks Twining’s Oolong’s ass.
The directions are to steep for 2-3minutes, and this is adequate. The aroma is richer, the taste is richer… just a better quality oolong.
My only complaint is that I seriously struggle opening the packet containing the teabag! When I do finally manage to tear it open, I rip the teabag as well… so then I have to use a teaball/infuser… which feels demoralizing, somehow. =P

Aww, poor ripped packaging. Though, being honest, I always think that the more room that oolongs have to expand, the better.

Tea & Toxiphobia

I can see how that would be true! I really ought to be trying to rip it, then! ;D

This is a sweet tea with a wonderful plum taste. Although, it’s sweet, I think adding some honey or agave nectar would bring out the taste even more, because it is a bit bitter, but not in a bad way.
