drank Pear by Southern Boy Teas

While I like a lot of 52Teas blends, this one didn’t agree with me. It tasted very artificial and bothered my stomach, for whatever reason. The boything didn’t care for it either, and we wound up throwing out most of the pitcher.

My one and only complaint with this tisane, honestly, is that it’s just not strong enough. I love how it tastes (sweet and almondy, mmm), I just wish that the flavour was stronger. I originally picked this up after I tried “Sleigh Ride” (and loved it) because I had heard that they had a similar base, and they’re both quite tasty, but Sleigh Ride definitely wins in terms of strength of flavour.

I’ll happily drink through my 100gs of Forever Nuts (probably using more per-cup), but I think it’s Sleigh Ride that I actually need to stock up on.

Edit:

Drank 100g in two days. Oops.
Strong enough or not, I love it apparently.
Upping rating accordingly.

I used my flash chill iced tea pitcher to make a batch of this a couple of days ago, and I’m just finishing up the last of it now.

I didn’t particularly enjoy the smell of the dry mixture, but I’m glad that I gave it a chance anyway. It’s really good iced. It’s fruity, sweet, and a little bit tart. It reminds me of some frozen fruit drink that I used to like as a kid, though I can’t put my finger on what exactly that drink was. I just know that it was also pinkish in color and delicious.

When I drink this, it’s the melon that I pick up on the most. I was a bit worried that the hibiscus (blech) might make it too tart if over-steeped, but 6 minutes seemed to be just fine.

All in all, a really delicious summer tea.

This. is. SO. good.

I made a pitcher of this iced earlier today (using the flash chill method) and I’ve already guzzled down over half of it. It tastes like a pina colada, straight-up, and I bet that it would make an amazing cocktail base. It is deliciously sweet, fruity, refreshing and creamy! I’ve been drinking mine with plenty of ice and a generous splash of lemon juice to give it a little extra oomph.

It’s a little ray of sunshine in a glass, and it makes me day-dream about summer. ♥

This one is kind of a miss for me.

It’s not that I hate it (thankfully, since I still have a 50g bag of it in my cupboard), but I don’t think that I would buy it again. I like my black tea to be strong (though not bitter), and this one was very weak no matter how long I steeped it.

Taste-wise it kind of reminded me of cinnamon buns (which.. yum!), and if the flavour profile had been stronger it had the potential to be really enjoyable.

I LOVE mango, but sadly I don’t love this.

I finally took the plunge and bought an iced tea pitcher today (yay!), and along with that I picked up a couple of the pitcher-perfect tea packages. This was one of the flavours.

While I absolutely loved this tea on dry sniff, it doesn’t taste like I thought it would at all. It reminds me of some icky citrus/peach-flavored drink that I would have had as a kid, or something, and it’s not all that appetizing. Mango is creamy and smooth and sweet and delicious, but for whatever reason I can’t taste any of that goodness in this tea.

…And now I have an entire pitcher of it to get through.

Editing to Add: I realized after I wrote this that the problem with this tea – for me – might just have been that I didn’t add enough sugar, and I may give it another chance in the future to test this theory out. We’ll see.
