2291 Tasting Notes
I picked this up on the weekend to share with my parents. It’s super cute! As it brews the star POOFS up and becomes huge.
Sadly, the flavour was not for any of us. I would say “strong marine notes” but it tasted like kelp. So seaweedy.
Still, I’m glad I had a chance to try it. Such a neat idea, and I’m sure that people who like darker oolongs would like this a lot more.
Preparation
3 steeps later and I’m neither tea drunk nor awake. Is it bed time yet. Mom says it isn’t, which makes me sad.
This tea is delightful. I haven’t had another sun moon lake before but I couldn’t resist because of the name. Nice and sweet assamy malty flavours. Sil and MissB will definitely be getting some of this.
I gave the last bit of this to my BFF this evening, and the summary of her thoughts was, “This is really good. You need to buy more.”
So, onto her birthday shopping list it goes!
(I really liked it as well, but I don’t drink white teas too often.)
Preparation
I love how “Chicken Soup” is one of the flavours listed for the tea. :D :D
This is my favourite of the fandom blends, I think. So tasty. Blueberry caramel! Yum yum yum.
Flavors: Blueberry, Caramel
Preparation
Finishing this sample up tonight while I 20/10 my house into submission. I’m going to Nanaimo tomorrow, and will pester my friends until they take me past the Tea Desire! So I’ll soon have lots of this tea. :D :D :D
A nice introductory flavoured puerh, this is mostly caramel and there is no mushroomy fishy weirdness that seems to put people off this general type of tea.
So if you like caramel and are starting to investigate puerh, try this one! So good. :)
Preparation
Not bad, not bad. A little weak this morning (yes, it’s still morning!) but nicely strawberry-y. Not nearly as much pure strawberry as the one from Herbal Infusions, though.
I forgot I had this tea until I was poking around for something that wasn’t “the usual” this morning. So I probably wouldn’t get it again, even though it is a pretty good strawberry tea. :)
Flavors: Cream, Strawberry
Preparation
I got more of this tea, because I remember liking it so much.
And it doesn’t disappoint. Cold brewed 1 tbsp in a canning jar (4 cups? 1L or so) for 24 hours. Yummy. A pinch of sugar brightens it up a lot. It is quite tart, with a chili kick at the end. The chili does come out a bit more when iced, but it’s good this way too.
I made this to bring to work this morning.
Ugh.
Objectively I do like the smell and the flavour of these roasted oolongs, but it was just too much. Which is interesting because a lapsang souchong is generally fine in the morning.
I think this one needs to be relegated to shorter steeps at home and not in a travel mug. I also think I should focus on the super green and floral oolongs, as I seem to like them a lot more.
Preparation
I’ve had others that were better. This is a very light, very roasted tea. If it had more body, or gave me less of an oolong-drunk, I might appreciate it more. :)
Made this morning, with cream. It’s a general sort of creamy chocolatey mildly coconutty tea. More chocolate because I added some Crio Bru to the steeping basket, which was nice.
I had it with a dollop of cream.
I don’t think I’ll get it again. It’s not bad, but it’s not something I always want to drink, like either Creme Brulee or Divine Temptation…
Flavors: Chocolate, Coconut
Preparation
yes but i’d had it like once! and it’s good….just not ZOMG DRINK THIS NAAAAAO plus my sweet spot with this is latte..and i really enjoy that
Ground chocolate. http://www.criobru.ca/
It is really tasty stuff!
