This has to be one of my absolute favorite teas, from the looks and feeling of drinking flowers and pretending to be a fairy with the flower water in my little cup, to the smell of childhood and near holy nights of peaceful moments in your life that won’t be forgotten as you grow up, but this time must be taken only at a certain time as I would not like to be reminiscing when I go. Ergo my book list.

Books recommended for this tea are: Tales from the Dark Tower by Joseph Vargo, Never Let Me Go by Kazuo Ishiguro, The Namesake by Jhumpa Lahiri

Preparation
205 °F / 96 °C 4 min, 15 sec 1 tsp 8 OZ / 236 ML

Everyone seems to have had labeling/following the instructions for this tea, causing a mug of bitterness instead of calming green tea.

I just went with what my kettle said and steep it for only 3 minutes at most, and it came out fine. The green tea just tasted like green tea. I regret not reading to try it iced now that I finished it because apparently that brought out the other flavors.

Books recommended for this tea are: The Joy Luck Club by Amy Tan, Dark Places by Gillian Flynn.

Why I chose those books is because the plots come from a bitter place in life, but at the same time, if you’re lucky, or through the hard detective work of finding out the best combo on how to brew/steep this tea, you can find yourself in a good standing.

Preparation
170 °F / 76 °C 2 min, 30 sec 1 tsp 6 OZ / 177 ML

As far as chai goes, it’s not as strong tasting as I am used to. It is a good warm up. Next time I will let it steep more. I did enjoy it, but it is not the flavor I was looking for. So this would be in the book world a case of the accidental browser. Where you read a book you had expectations for but went in a different direction. It surprise me, especially with the scent of the tea.

Books recommended for this tea are: Blind Willow, Sleeping Woman by Haruki Murakami, The White Tiger by Aravind Adiga, The Burn Journals by Brent Runyon

Preparation
190 °F / 87 °C 5 min, 15 sec 1 tsp 8 OZ / 236 ML

Handiest mug I have bought! I have been using it for a little under a year and it hasn’t fail, fallen apart, or caused any mishaps on me. And I am the type of person to have awkward spills all over the place.

A refreshing taste even while hot. This tea is one that I enjoy on a spring morning. It reminds me of popsicles and hard candy. Can’t wait to try it cool. This tea reminds me of the teas one would serve to non drinking tea guests, making them guess what they are tasting before telling them it’s tea.

Books recommended for this tea are: In the Comfort of Strangers by Ian McEwan, Once Upon A Quincenera by Julia Alvarez.

Preparation
205 °F / 96 °C 7 min, 0 sec 2 tsp 32 OZ / 946 ML

This is the tea I want to gift to someone who doesn’t know tea and who needs a pick me up. With it’s pretty floating jasmine flowers, and it’s bright lemony taste, this tea is for someone special to who you want to share a bit of beauty to the world or if you just want to brighten up your own day because you deserve it.

Books recommended for this tea are: The Good Earth by Pearl S. Buck, Sir Gawain and the Green Knight, Pearl, and Sir Orfeo by Unknown, J.R.R. Tolkien (Translator), Christopher Tolkien (Editor), The Penelopiad by Margaret Atwood

Flavors: Jasmine, Lemon

Preparation
185 °F / 85 °C 5 min, 30 sec 1 tsp 8 OZ / 236 ML
