AC Perch 2025 Advent Day 4: Bangladesh Organic

I detect the subtlest hint of smokiness. There’s some fruitiness and some depth, but unfortunately I’m not a fan.

AC Perch 2025 Advent Day 3: Green Apple & Elderberry

I steeped this at 2 minutes, not the recommended 4-5. Lovely apple flavour and a mellow green base. The elderberry is quite faint, but everything works together really well.

Lex gave this an A!

AC Perch 2025 Advent Day 2: Chingwo

I can smell the most subtle hint of smoke in both the dry and steeped tea. There’s no mention of this in the notes. The tea itself has some sweetness, but the smoke overtakes it (I strongly suspect this is a me issue).

Lex gave this one an F (gross, no, never again) XD.

Martin Bednář

Ah, shame it is smokey and I know you both don’t like those.

AC Perch 2025 Advent Day 1: White Christmas

I would describe this as clove-heavy. If I concentrate, I can imagine some apple on the end of the sip. Mostly clove and cinnamon heat. The base is fine.

Lex created an advent tea rating scale from A-F and gave this a D/E (D: would not order, but decent; E: would not order, did not enjoy, but finished the cup).

Accursed clove, always ruining things! >:(

It sounds good in theory, but sadly, not in reality.

Nice enough, a tad clove-heavy. Thanks for sharing Cameron!

Boo clove! :P

This was a lovely tea. The cherry came through clearly with the chocolate more subtle, but definitely there. I finished this in 13 months and the flavour was already faded, but not so much it wasn’t still enjoyable. It’s a shame this one isn’t more readily available, as I would pick more up.

If you search for the ingredients list, it looks like a lot of shops carry it under the name Black Forest or Temptation. Maybe there’s one in Canada!

Lindsay

Yeah, looks like it’s a Metropolitan blend, which means you can definitely find it in Canada. If your local Metropolitan reseller doesn’t have it in stock, they could probably order it for you. Looks like it’s actually on sale at thedriftingleaf.com under the name “Black Forest”.

Thanks to Cameron for this! I ultimately prefer Tea Girl’s version, but this one isn’t too “rooibos-y” and the peach is at the forefront, but not cloying. Overall, a nice tea.

There’s a nice blackcurrant flavour here at the forefront. The bergamot is quite hidden, but I didn’t really mind. Thanks Cameron!

I love this one! But yes, definitely more blackcurrant and cream than bergamot.

This is like a pumpernickel bread with hints of caraway. Absolutely delightful, smooth, and no atsringency — one I would happily order. Thanks Cameron!

So glad you’re enjoying them! :D

This one is quite Darjeeling-esque — light and smooth, with some creaminess. I quite liked this and wish I had more notes, but left it too long and now my memory only recalls the basics. Thanks for sharing Cameron!

Glad you enjoyed it! <3

Bio

I love black and oolong (unroasted/green and red preferable to roasted) teas, followed by green or red rooibos, herbals, whites, and subtly flavoured greens.

Likes:
Blackcurrant, raspberry, strawberry, peach, apricot, rhubarb, passionfruit, redcurrant, fig, and most fruits in general, maple, creaminess, hay, biscuit, lavender, and cacao/dark chocolate.

I enjoy bergamot when paired with flavours that mellow it.

Dislikes:
Any smokiness at all, stevia, too much blackberry leaf, rose, jasmine, ginger (except in chai), cinnamon-heavy teas, anything cloying or fake/candy-like.

I’m vegan and have a potato allergy, so I avoid animal products in tea, along with sprinkles as these often have potato starch (I’ll happily pick them out of blends).
