From Charleston Tea Plantation

Over 100 years ago, tea planters brought their finest ancestral tea bushes from China and India to Wadmalaw Island near the historic old city of Charleston, South Carolina. Now the direct descendants of these very plants have been lovingly restored to their former grandeur here at the Charleston Tea Plantation, a lush subtropical tea farm. It is in this context of great natural beauty and colonial pride that we bring you Rockville Raspberry® Tea made from 100% tea grown at America’s ONLY tea garden. We have crafted a very special taste for our tea by blending the invigorating taste of raspberries with Charleston Tea Plantation’s finest tea leaves.

This tea is absolutely wonderful. The taste is exactly like a fresh raspberry and is extremely refreshing. It has a fruity refreshing taste without being too sweet or too bitter which is why I really enjoy it.

This first time a had this tea was during an afternoon tea outing on a brisk Winter afternoon, and it was the perfect juxtaposition to the chilly weather. I had it more recently during our tea tasting in class and had the opportunity to prepare it for everyone. It’s so much more enjoyable to be able to take the time to boil the water to just the right temperature for you, to fill the bowl of the teapot so that the bottom is covered with the beautiful dry leaves, and then after brewing you get to see how they have transformed and swelled with water.
The fragrance of this tea is a great enhancement and adds a moreish quality, the flavor is deep and earthy with more of a raspberry aftertaste. In fact, the lingering aftertaste is my favorite part.

I really enjoyed the raspberry taste. It wasn’t too bitter for me, which is a big thing for me when deciding if I like a tea or not.

I made myself a cup of this like an hour ago and completely forgot I was steeping it for a solid chunk of time and was expecting it to taste awful. I quick took it out of my Ingenuitea and it was fine… I’m convinced its impossible to oversteep this tea!

The black base definitely shines through a little more than usual and the raspberry becomes more of an undertone but it’s still a nice cuppa.

Love this Rockville Raspbery just sweeted a little and served over ice. You still taste the tea itself with a backnote of Raspberries. Yummy!

Brewed this up this morning, decent black tea with gentl hint of raspberry. I don’t like overpowering red fruits and this tea keeps the red fruit under control by using it as a nice under-the-radar accent.

I brewed this tea a little differently and it is much better than last time. I used less leaf in the hopes of tastier tea and got better but not incredible tea. This is another one I bought for the novelty factor of USA grown tea.

It is slightly sweet with some but not a lot of raspberry flavor. It is not too bitter but a little. Not bad but I would not buy it again.

I brewed this once in an 18oz teapot with 2 tsp leaf and 200 degree water for 3min.

This tea is a definite favorite of mine. I like how the raspberry flavor is very much present and distinct without overwhelming the tea itself. I find that this tea requires no sweetening whatsoever. I grew up going to my grandparents’ summer home on an island very near Wadmalaw, so the Charleston Tea Plantation teas are really something special to me. I will definitely be buying more.
