What would you do if there was no more tea?

I was just thinking: what would I drink all day if tea didn’t exist anymore? Surely would have a whole cabinet full of sad cups :)

What would you do?

Drink other things.

And be annoyed that I spent so much money on something that inexplicably disappeared.

I would soak various things in hot water to see what I could come up with :). I anticipate most of it would be gross or poisonous but I would try it anyway.

coffee seems like the obvious choice. if purely for energy possibly a caffine/ginseng/B12 supplement.

Buy all the Pu-Erh in the world and make a fortune selling it off to desperate tea drinkers. ;)

Lets see…
If China, Japan, India, and Africa stop exporting tea? No problem I’ll just order from Hawaii :)
If all tea is confiscated (contamination, illegal, etc.) and no longer allowed to be imported into the US? No Problem, I already have baby tea plants. I could cultivate them in secret and harvest/process my own tea.
If aliens stop by and steal every flake a tea as well as the plants? well… I hear chamomile is nice…

it could happen, if I were an alien and we didnt have tea on our planet i’d come to earth and take it all lol

Water. I already drink a lot of it. If I was desperate for something hot, I’d probably just have hot chocolate or cider. I’d be pretty bummed, but I’d be fine.

I’d be out of a job. I would drink a lot of hot water with lemon but would be very sad not to have tea in my life.

Wait, is there a chance of this. And… how would you grow your own tea?

buy seeds or cuttings.
But you need to live in a slightly tropical area.

If tea suddenly disappeared, I’d lament for the remainder of my days. For substitutes, I would drink herbal tisanes (herbs and flowers don’t really count as tea, right?) and a heck of a lot of water, sometimes with lemon or lime. I’d also put my teaware on display, staring at them longingly while lamenting some more.

What a lububrious topic.

Probably throw the world’s largest tantrum, heh.

I’d be guzzling hot water with lemon like a fiend for a substitute, even though it’s not even close to being the same thing. (though I do really like it)
