Yesterday I braved the cold and set out for one of the vintage shops in the area in a search of new teaware. Monday was a bust so I had my hopes high for Tuesday. I came back with a lovely teapot and a cup for one (fits about 2 cups of tea like I wanted, teapot sits on top of the cup), Skye McGhie Wild Rose design. I’m normally not into florals but this one was so adorable I couldn’t pass it by. I’m browsing the net now and see other designs by this artist that I would love to have.
On to the tea business… High Mountain Oolong from David’s Tea steeped in my new Skye McGhie teapot.
I read through my first notes about this tea and I’m surprised that I was unimpressed when I drank it for the first time. This tea is just so lovely and unique tasting and it’s got this delicate, well balanced astringency that I enjoy so much. I detect vegetal mixed with floral notes. Lovely, just lovely. Sadly, I only have a tiny bit of it left… I have a sneaking feeling that this one will be reordered.
