From Verdant Tea

Tieguanyin is so full and floral that it doesn’t really need to blended with anything for full enjoyment, but we thought, why not be decadent and try to make it even more rich and floral? We use a sweet and buttery autumn harvest Tieguanyin, and draw out the perfumed aftertaste with a touch of jasmine blossoms. We brighten up the body with sweet orange rind, and accent the buttery qualities with saffron. Why not? This is one decadent tea, sweet enough for anyone to love, and great hot or iced.

Ingredients: Autumn 2011 Anxi Tieguanyin, Jasmine Blossoms, Orange Rind, Saffron

Darn, I sipped this down last week without ever logging a note about it lol. I will write a quick one now – this tea was super relaxing, fresh, a bit citrusy and creamy, and a bit floral. It was a good one for before bed on summer nights. I will miss the calming attributes of it! Happy I got to try this one in the blends subscription! No rating as I didn’t log a detailed enough note on it to warrant one I don’t think lol.

Pretty good! It’s creamy and light. And I can barely tell it’s a blend. I do get the saffron at the very end. It lingers on the tongue. The jasmine is very light. Just a scent almost. Good summer oolong blend.

Love the flavors of this one. Starts out typical green and floral taste, then the spice kicks in the next few steeps.

This tea is a clear indicator of how my taste in teas has changed over time. When I first tried this months ago, I wasn’t really into its herbal flavour, but now I absolutely love it! I’ve been drinking this almost every day before bed. Sure, it’s not decaf, but I find its silky texture and warm herb flavour really, really helpful as a sleepaid.

Looks: So very pretty! It’s got pieces of whole jasmine and chamomile flowers mixed with whole oolong leaves. I love the way it looks dried and brewed.

Fragrance & Taste: It’s hard to describe. Very silky in texture with an herbal minty flavour. Like sleeping in silk sheets..it’s refreshing and comforting at the same time!

Brewing Notes: This is so forgiving for me. I can easily get 5+ steeps out of this even with my giant mug. I start drinking it after dinner and continue until bed. This routine has helped me sleep better the last week!
