From Upton Tea Imports

First developed by one of the tea gardens in Shizuoka, this tea has gained high popularity among Japanese tea connoisseurs. The Fukamushi (‘Deep-Steam’) manufacture requires special processing and a longer steaming. Sweet, rich taste and a thick cup are the result of this extra processing. The tea takes on a broken appearance and is comprised of a mix of fine particles and cut leaf. Fukamushi Sencha is prized for its superior taste rather than for the visual appearance of the leaf. Certified organic.

Steeping Suggestions: -

The brewed tea is a pretty yellow color. This is the first green tea that I’ve actually perfectly followed the directions regarding both time and temperature while brewing. The flavor is mild and sweet. There is a slightly nutty fragrance mixed with something else, something slightly weedy. It smells the way dry flower-filled fields in Colorado smell.
