Lately I have been drinking a lot of mint tea. Twinings peppermint is good, and has a decent strength which I’d call somewhere in the middle.

Picked this up on a whim at my local supermarket.

Had too much sushi and needed something soothing for the stomach. This did the trick just fine. Also running out of caffeine-free options so this is handy to have in my cupboard.

I’ve had better peppermint, but for $0.10/teabag I’m not complaining.

An instante favorite. I’m a sucker for any spearmint/peppermint/mint flavored foods, and this was not exception. Very smooth, fragrant, fresh and delightful.

Nice mint, but I think I like Tazo Refresh-Mint better. Maybe that one has other mint varieties in it that I like.

I enjoy the Twinings Pure Peppermint. The aroma is good although not as strong as I had imagined it would be. It steeps beautifully and the flavor becomes deeper the longer one steeps. I enjoy a full bodied taste, so I tend to leave the bag in longer than advised. Or, I may use two bags for extra added flavor. Its a very good tea and does a wonderful job relaxing the body and mind.

What a horrible, absolutely rotten, day at work. I cried, literally, at my desk. Some of you might remember that Research Assist where the pharmacy is insisting they should be paid? I sent proof the beneficiary was admitted to the hospital and that the pharmacy would have to submit to receive payment from the proper Medicare carrier. Now they’re coming back and saying that’s not valid; the patient was never there.

I’m like, EXCUSE ME? What the he…? Do you think I hired a forger?

Can you believe that? I have emailed the situation to the adjudication team to see if they have encountered this before. I have run out of options. If Adjudication has nothing, then the next thing this pharmacy will need to do to get their $38.00 is file a Congressional Inquiry. Yeah, bring it up to your congressman or woman.

This whole business made me cry and then my tummy got queasy. Either the stress is getting to me or I’m getting sick. Could be either one. I drank my last cup of this and I did feel a little better. I don’t hate my job (although I did toy briefly with the idea of putting in my notice) but some days it’s just not worth the stress. I’m switching now from tea to booze.

Sil

ugh. i’m sorry that sucks.

Veronica

I’m sorry. That sounds like a truly rotten day. I’m glad the tea helped, and I hope whatever you’re drinking now is helping, too. <3

Lindsay

Ugh, the American “health care system” makes me crazy and sad. Sorry you’re having to deal with all this stupidity. Hope tomorrow is a better day!

OMGsrsly

D: That sounds terrible. Here’s hoping tomorrow is better, and that the booze is tasty. :)

My wife wanted grilled cheese. Not a fan. Now I remember why. I am doubled over with cramping. Found this on my desk. No idea where it came from. I am guessing my son through it there. It is obvious this is peppermint. It is just as obvious it is very old. It just isn’t working for me. Guess I’ll have to tough it out :(

Anlina

Hope you feel better soon.

Ost

Oh no! That sounds awful! i am sorry :( Feel better soon!

Miss Starfish

I absolutely adore this particular herbal infusion for a bagged variety. As I stated in another of my notes, you can’t always spare the time for a nice loose leaf brew, sometimes you just need something warm to drink and get on with your day without taking the time to go through all the steps loose leaf can require.

When you open the box you notice they are all individually wrapped, as all Twining’s teas are. Next you notice that even then you can smell the peppermint. To me that’s always a good sign. If it’s strong enough to smell through the packaging I know I’m going to enjoy it. Once I ripped open the first packet I was in love. As the package states it is nothing but pure peppermint leaves. You can tell just by smelling it that that is the case.

Now, on to the brewing and tasting. When you pour the hot water over it you immediately get a face full of hot steamy peppermint goodness. It sort of hard to wait for it to steep and I usually don’t even let it steep for as long as I probably should. I am sort of a sucker for peppermint so I guess I just don’t have the patience. I find the taste strong and energizing without being overpowering, and unlike Celestial Seasonings it doesn’t taste old, and or dusty. It also has a handy little string to pull it out with so you don’t have to to fishing for the teabag in a cup of very hot liquid. Upon the first sip I can pretty much always feel my nasal passages and sinuses open up and my chest clear, as well as my stomach settle which is a natural reaction to the peppermint oil. By the end of the cup, even if I am sick, I always feel very uplifted and energized.

All in all this is one of my absolute favorite teas, and it will always be a staple in my cupboard for those times I just can’t spare the time to make it loose leaf or just feel to icky to go through the motions involved.
