Taking inspiration from the Silk Road, our blend of China black teas, including keemun and lapsang souchong, is a delicious road to travel. An orange hue through this smoky brew reveals a medium-bodied infusion that’s like passing through a pine forest. Soft tannins temper the fire, making for all-day drinking with flavour.
Brew:
1 teaspoon per 200mls, brew 2-4 minutes in water at 100 degrees Celsius.
Serve: Black. For an authentic treat, sip through a sugar cube held between the teeth.

An absolutely incredible tea. It smells and tastes like woodsmoke and forests, but unlike some smoky teas it isn’t at all bitter. Opening the tin is quite literally like walking towards a bonfire. Delicious on cold mornings – it really warms you up! Steep for just over 3 minutes with just-boiled water.
Perhaps because we spent time camping as kids, I LOVE smoked teas, and in particular, Russian Caravan blends. They remind me of boiling a billy over the fire and the strong smoky taste it gave the the brew.
This is close to my favourite (just pipped by Tamborine Tea Russian Caravan).
All the smoke I love in a Lapsang Souchong (which is included in this blend), but without an overpowering punch & dry aftertaste which LS teas can often have.

For my taste a nice long steep only intensifys the savoury notes and brings out the depths of flavour. if you could cross a savoury vegetable bullion and a black tea this tea would come close, this is my afternoon snack tea when im after something hearty. I have added a scoop of T2’s Winter in winter that adds a hint of spice to the savoury with its pepper, cardamon, ginger & Cinnamon.
