From SpecialTeas

Once again, Margaret’s Hope has produced an outstanding second flush with sought-after muscatel flavor. The wonderfully tippy leaves infuse to a medium-bodied cup with elegant fruity flavor and nutty notes. A must-try for single estate devotees and newcomers alike!

Recommendations: Use 1 level tsp. per 6oz. cup; heat fresh water to a roaring boil; let steep for 3 min. Try with some rock sugar.

Dry.White.Wine.

The taste progression of this tea is super fast but highly noticeable. It goes something like this (but in a blur): slightly sweet, floral, grape skin bitterness, sweet, and ends with lingering bitterness. The astringency level is moderate…just enough to be unpleasant. It really does taste like a dry white wine…and it’s a wee bit odd to drink it hot. Wombatgirl gave me this sample when she was in Nashville. Thanks chick!

Time to drink some water to re-hydrate my mouth. :)

Snowy week followed by a snowy weekend. I’m staying inside, and I’m sipping this tea with relish. It’s a nice smooth tea with a good flavor – neutral when compared to some of my flavored teas. It pairs nicely with just about any food. A classic!

Heavy on tannin but lacking in flavour. It’s just kind of sour and bland. I think this sample is too old. :(

Not gonna rate it because I think it’s age-damaged. It seems like a popular variety, so I’ll have to see if I can get a fresher sample from somewhere.

Summer fun is ending, so it’s back to sipping and making notes about it. This tastes of citrus with some woodiness to it. The little bit I have left is older than is ideal, but still good.

Dug this up from the back of my tea shelf. This has got to be way old. Barely enough for a single cup but what the heck. Is nuttier than I remember. But all in all, a lot better than I expected when you consider how long it was lost in the pantry.
