Earthy and musty, but not overly harsh. A pretty decent average puerh. Having this straight will help with the couple of flavoured puerhs i’ve picked up form River Tea to try :) thanks cavo!
So I just drank Mandala’s Special Dark yesterday, so today may have been a bad time to try this. It just tastes like puerh. Good puerh. Maybe even great. But it’s not blow-my-mind with your earthiness and super rich chocolate notes.
It’s earth. It’s dark. It doesn’t taste like dirt. I could drink a fair bit of this, but I think I’ll pass the rest to Sil!

I wasn’t really expecting much, to be honest, but this turned out to be a decent little Shu. I brewed it long & proud, lol, & ended up with a very satisfying cup of earthiness, with no objectionable qualities whatsoever. As it cooled, it took on a creamy cocoa quality, which I really enjoyed. I was sipping & practicing my harp for a wedding I’m playing tomorrow at the Missouri Botanical Garden. It’s suppose to be a beautiful day, & this wedding is in my favorite part of the garden, the Chinese Friendship garden. It’s enclosed by a wall, there is a little stream winding through the center, a couple of little bridges, a pagoda, several weeping willows, & if I had time to go hang out at the garden more, that would be my place. I thought it was pretty average too. Good in that it didn’t taste like just earth, but not super memorable. Glad I just grabbed a sample!
