2011 COFCO CNNP 7581 Pu-erh Tea Brick Batch 1101 250g

COFCO (used to call CNNP), China National Cereals, Oils and Foodstuffs Corporation, is one of China’s state-owned food processing holding companies. COFCO Group is China’s largest food processing, manufacturer and trader, it holds the 136th place in the Global 500 companies.

All pu-erh teas under COFCO are made in famous Kunming Tea Factory.

The last stop in our 2011 Spring tea trip was Kunming Tea Factory. There we rediscovered the crown jewel of Puerh teas: famous 7581 brick.

As an export oriented company, I appreciated Kunming Tea Factory’s quality as I found an inspection report on the tea, it was free of any chemicals (photo enclosed)! Certainly the export quality and an organic product without a certificate.

Be aware there are a lots of fake 7581 bricks selling at a lower price. Watch out all 7581 bricks made before 2006, they were fake or knockoff because Kunming Tea Factory did not produce a single piece of 7581 between 1994 and 2005. It is almost impossible to get a genuine 7581 made before 1994.
