COFCO (used to call CNNP), China National Cereals, Oils and Foodstuffs Corporation, is one of China’s state-owned food processing holding companies. COFCO Group is China’s largest food processing, manufacturer and trader, it holds the 136th place in the Global 500 companies.
All pu-erh teas under COFCO are made in famous Kunming Tea Factory.
The last stop in our 2012 Spring tea trip was Kunming Tea Factory. There we rediscovered the crown jewel of Puerh teas: famous 7581 brick.
As an export oriented company, I appreciated Kunming Tea Factory’s quality as I found an inspection report on the tea, it was free of any chemicals (photo enclosed)! Certainly the export quality and an organic product without a certificate.
The batch 1103 bricks were packed in bamboo burke for each two bricks, and the wrapper had a new company name tag ‘Honorably produced by China Foods Group’, wow.
