I like the lightness of Palais des Thes teas. This one doesn’t disappoint me, with sweet orange and just light spices (mostly cinnamon?) but somehow not tasting heavy like some Christmas teas do. The green tea is unremarkable but supports the flavors sufficiently. All in all, I enjoy it.

Palais des Thés Advent Calendar – Day 4

Another Christmas tea… Well, let’s get this over with. ;)

This smells very much like bubblegum. Luckily, it doesn’t taste much like it. Maybe a little bit, but I get that association often with almond/cherry combined with spice. There’s definitely sweet orange, and clove of course – the quintessential “holiday” tea pairing. There’s also a bit of almond or marzipan. I feel like I taste ginger, but I guess it must be the clove as ginger isn’t listed as an ingredient. Either way, it’s making my mouth a little tingly. The green base tastes like dried grass and leaves – not my favorite.

This is pretty much what I expected. Definitely not loving it, especially on a green base.
