“Spring 2020 harvest. Dark, damp earthy aroma mixed with a darker milk chocolate. Malty and juicy, bitter flowers like lavender. Catches in the throat on the way down and leaves a sweet mineral...” Read full tasting note
“A bit let down by this tea. I have heard that OWT is pretty good with Rou Gui. As this is my first time trying Rou Gui, I have nothing to compare to. However, it does not have the “classic” flavor...” Read full tasting note
“both reviews for ~4 steeps before i mugged. yancha brewing never peaks past the first couple of steeps for me and I’m lazy and don’t care enough to do long drawn out sessions for a lot of teas...” Read full tasting note

Description

2020: My mom is a big fan of rou gui. She called me up a while back to tell me about a new rou gui she tried that seemed exciting. Of course I asked for some, and here it is. We call it tèjí ròuguì where tèjí means superfine grade. This tea is from high mountain material. I like how the tea brings a good energy and the fragrance builds up, drawing you into the session.
This tea was featured in the February 2021 tea club.
