Classically processed first-harvest Darjeeling with lighter rolling and oxidation and a delicate fruity aroma of yellow melon. A golden infusion of nicely balanced vibrant flavor with a distinct fruit and herbal component and a long, slightly astringent aftertaste.
Preparation: 3 teaspoons per 0,7 l of boiled water, cooled down to about 85°C, steep 2 – 3 minutes.
Ringtong Tea Estate
One of the oldest gardens in the area, established as early as 1865, stretches on the slopes around the town of Sonada, about fifteen kilometers south of Darjeeling. The garden is largely still planted with original old china tea trees that grow at an altitude of 1000 to 1700 meters. An interesting fact is that the garden was closed for seventeen long years between 1996 and 2014. The tea factory burned down during labor unrest in December 1996.
