Last tasting note I wrote was for Very Cherry which is a new tea from this year’s feel good campaign. In that note I mentioned that there was one other new tea in the same campaign – and that’s this tea!!

I waited to write the tasting note until today because I wanted to retaste it since I’ve had it only a handful of times quite a while back and am less familiar with it than the rest of the collection. I’m sipping on the mug of it currently and it’s definitely pretty similar to what I remembered.

My favourite thing in the blend is definitely the Greek Mountain Tea which has a unique savory flavour almost like thyme or basil. I think that tastes delicious in combination with the cooling and menthol elements of the eucalyptus and the hint of ginger. There’s less distinct Greek Mountain Tea flavour in this blend than I feel like were present in Mint Olympus, which is the other Greek Mountain tea that DT put out back in 2020. For me, I think I prefer Mint Olympus but I know that blend could come off as very savory and that’s not a profile that’s for everyone.

Honey flavour is tricky for me. Sometimes I like it and sometimes I don’t; especially when it’s strong. I do find this quite strong and sweet, though I also think that’s fair because the honey is as integral a part of this blend as the Greek Mountain tea: especially since the blend not only has a honey flavouring but also uses actual Manuka Honey. The idea here is that the combination of Greek Mountain Tea, ginger, eucalyptus, fennel, and the manuka honey create a tea that is overall good for sore throats and congestion with a bit of nausea support as well. Personally, my focus is just on the taste though and, well, honey is meant to be a big part of that.

I think I’m personally still a little undecided on this one. I haven’t really been stuffy/congested in a while but I would be curious to see how this would work for me if I was. I feel the menthol of the eucalyptus as I sip it and that’s definitely something that I do personally find helpful… so we’ll see.

Friendly reminder that I do not numerically rate DAVIDsTEA blends as I’m currently employed there and it would be an obvious conflict of interest. Any blends you see with numerical ratings were rated prior to my employment there. These reviews are a reflection of my personal thoughts and feelings regarding the teas, and not the company’s.

You had me at “menthol.”

Not like Cold 911 level menthol, just to be clear – but definitely there.

MadHatterTeaReview

Even better! I like the teas that either taste like Vicks would, if edible OR if the menthol is mildly lingering. Both are great! Especially during cold/flu season.
