From DAVIDsTEA

Sweet anticipation

Is there anything more summery than a big bowl of strawberry shortcake? We look forward to strawberry season all year, just for that familiar dish of ripe, juicy berries, golden pastry and a cloud of whipped cream. But with this sweet, juicy blend, you can enjoy the taste of summer anytime, anywhere. It’s a dreamy mix of black tea with sweet strawberries and toasty pieces of brittle – ice it with a bit of cream for the full experience.

Ingredients: Black tea, brittle pieces, strawberry.

Well, I won’t say Strawberry Shortcake is an awful tea because I’d be lying. BUT it’s not all that I thought or hoped it would be. I find the brittle to be a little too strong tasting, it almost masks the strawberry flavor and I thought strawberries were the first ingredient in the shortcake. I don’t think I would buy this tea again, however I think I’ll try it iced before I make that decision final. As soon as I do have it iced, I’ll be back to either change or keep my rating.

I was surprised by the nuttiness of this tea. I get strawberry in the aftertaste but just don’t think this one is for me. I even added a bit extra leaf as my sample was down to just bits.

Maybe my palate is just refining itself more towards unflavored teas….just don’t know.

Was at my mom’s house and found this in her cupboard. Made it in a David’s Tea mug, with the infuser. I loved that mug! The holes in the infuser are much smaller than in my tea ball, and for the first time in awhile there were no dregs in my tea!!!

I made this with too much milk unfortunately, and I’m sick so it was hard to taste. But overall I liked it! Will try it again next weekend when I’m home for thanksgiving.

It’s ok. It’s not my favourite to be honest. But it’s good when i’m in the mood for it. I probably won’t refill my tin, but I did love the DavidsTea recipe that I tried for it. That was delicious. Just too much work to make all that often XD

This tea tastes as delicious as you’d hope it would, and much better than what you would actually expect.

I tend to be a bit leery with this sort of flavored tea as I find the idea is always extremely exciting, but the end result always disappointing. Not so with the Strawberry shortcake.

It’s the perfect refreshing tea for when you want the dessert but not the calories. It tastes good straight, it tastes good with a bit of golden sugar — my sweetener of choice — and milk adds an alternate, and quite nice, flavor as well.

I meant to try this iced as David’s marketed it as such when I purchased it, but before I knew it I finished all 50g as hot cups.

The black tea base is a bit disappointingly weak. It’s there, but just barely. Just enough to not mistake this as an herbal infusion.

While I definitely enjoyed this tea, I couldn’t drink this every day. This is what you drink when you want dessert, not a good strong cup of tea.

Will definitely purchase more when David’s restocks. :)

I’ve drawn the conclusion that I’m bound to love any tea from David’s that has the word “cake” in the name. Tastes like strawberries and cream. And tea, of course. It’s good!

This tea smells amazing dry, but didn’t live up to my (admittedly high) expectations when brewed. I’ve been looking for a strawberry black tea with as much flavour as David’s Tea’s Blueberry Jam. Sadly, this was not it.

I did enjoy the tea for what it was – a nutty black tea with a lot of sweet caramel flavours form the brittle, and a little strawberry on the side. Just not what I was looking for, and I probably won’t repurchase it.

reminds me a bit of Love Tea #7 but sweeter and without the hints of chocolate and rose

I LOVE THIS ONE – so fun as iced tea in the summer.

Mmm! It’s so yummy iced. I added a small dash milk and it makes it so creamy and smooth. One day I decided to put vanilla ice cream to it instead of milk and it was sooo much better!! Too bad this one is seasonal
