Cold steeped for 24 hours. STRONG notes of marijuana on the nose and tongue. Creamy and smooth bitterness, far more bitter than hot steep. I cold steeped by first washing with boiling water which definitely released tannins. Very surprised by strong marijuana notes which weren’t present in hot steep.

Creamy, citrusy, strong bergamot. No strong tannins, mild astringency. Decent Earl Grey, nothing super memorable though.

Really well balanced. Buttery, earthy, and biscuity/cakey. A robust nuttiness throughout. No tannings, very little astringency, a great lingering aftertaste. Definitely the best oolong i’ve had.

Light and airy, floral and grassy notes are balanced. Strong citrus notes up front, floral and some biscuit at the end. Not a huge fan, a little too light for my taste. I prefer more robust flavors.

Strong mint and some ginger on the nose. Mint gives it slick and syrupy mouthfeel. Citrus mint on the front, ginger kick on the back, with a lemongrass backbone.

Not impressed. Likely it had been sitting too long at the coffee shop I bought it from. Terribly basic green tea, with no complexity. Would not drink again.

Cold brewed 4.5 g in 16 oz of water for 24 hours. Always impressed with cold brewing. Cold brew extracted more delicate notes and more accentuated flavors as compared to hot brewing. Still a basic green tea lacking complexity other than vegetal notes. Cold brew yields creamier mouthfeel as well. Tannins extracted well giving it some astringency. I thought cold brewing doesn’t extract tannins like hot brewing, but that doesn’t seem to be an issue here.

Purchased from Zombie Runner in Palo Alto, CA. I love the robust smokiness. Tea steeps to a strong caramel color and smells like a tumbler of Laphroaig. Lapsang is the peat-heavy Scotch of teas. Tastes smoky with a slick, syrupy mouthfeel. Spicy aftertaste. Mild astringency.
