As far as the States go, and smaller cities to boot, Dobra takes the cake. I’ve only been twice, but the experience has always been superb. You might consider the prices a bit high, but you pay for what you get. Or, you pay for the treatment you and your tea get. Sure, other places might be 2$ for a pot, but they use scalding water and bring you a pot with leaves in it already, you’ll never be able to get the appropriate brew time. At Dobra, all that is taken care of for you. Brew temp, brew time. Even though we should expect this from all tea houses, Dobra stands out from the rest as a rare treat.

As far as buying bulk tea, Wild Thyme is an excellent source and has an excellent selection. Prices are fair, too.

As far as a tea room, I’d have to rate Wild Thyme fairly low. Last tea I had brewed in house was scalding, way too hot for a green tea. And there was no trash nearby to take out my teabag to prevent over-extraction.

Also, considering it’s a natural food store, I wish they were more environmentally friendly and had served my tea in a ceramic cup, rather than a disposable one.

If I were rating their coffee, Uncommon would get 5 stars. Only 4 stars on tea, because the water tends to be a little hot and their brew kettles don’t allow for easy removal of the leaves, so as to prevent over-extraction while you’re enjoying the ambiance.

Otherwise, Uncommon is beyond great. Wonderful place to hang out, meet a friend, or be anonymous.
