Got this as a sample in my last Verdant order. I’m hoping my review is on the correct page; the package said Master Han’s 2014 Bamboo Wrapped Sheng Pu’er, I am assuming this is the same tea. Anyway, I decided to try this during my “Rediscovering Sheng Summer Tour” now that my palate seems to have completely changed. I really, really like this sheng. It’s light, sweet, smokey, and not too bitter at all. Right in my wheelhouse. I like this so much I went to the web site to purchase some, and much to my dismay, it’s not there. How dare they send me a free sample of tea and then run out! Damn you Verdant Tea Pushers!

[Recommended? Yes. But don’t hold your breath because IT’S GONE]

I’ve got a stash of this one :)

I’m wondering if I shouldn’t splurge on White2Tea’s “Little Walk” – seems like that would be up my alley considering how much I liked this one.

I haven’t tried Little Walk, so I can’t say :)
I’ve always enjoyed Master Han’s teas (I like to call him Master Han Solo, the Jedi master of tea, LOL). So I went ahead and ordered both of his 2015 shengs, otherwise my Han collection wouldn’t be complete! :)

Little Walk is so good, and a great deal. I like it better than the “If You Are Reading This It’s 2 Late” I purchased at the same time, and it’s over half the price. Can’t go wrong with it!

Brian: I think I might add a sample to my W2T club order next month. These days I’m skittish about committing to a whole cake of anything before I know I’ll like it.

For many years I drank cheap asian market-bought oolongs because I really didn’t know what was out there. For the last year or so I’ve been educating myself and making a foray into better quality teas. During the course of my journey I have fallen hard down the puerh rabbit hole – it started with young sheng, but now there’s another even deeper hole in the aged category, and I may be careening down this particular rabbit hole forever. I do still find time for aged oolong, a good wuyi yancha, and the occasional aged white.

I stopped rating teas awhile ago. I guess the numbers stopping meaning anything after awhile. For a long time I was pretty good about keeping my cupboard up to date and reviewing teas, mostly to help me keep track and remember what I like. I’ve gotten lazy about that for the last several months.

The tea addiction has also spawned a new addiction to throwing pottery, and I have become mildly obsessed with making tea cups, shibos, and teapots.
