The flavors here are quite strong! I taste a grape flavoring and a floral flavor. It was served hot, but I took some home and refrigerated it. When it was cold, the floral flavor was definitely more dominant. Since that’s not something I love, this tea ultimately ended up not being for me, but I did enjoy trying it!
This tastes nutty and chocolatey. It’s really pleasant warm with milk and sugar. Combined with the black base, this ends up quite hearty! This is a blend they make in-house, and it’s one I wouldn’t mind having again!
We attended a Wizard of Oz themed afternoon tea in town, and it was so cute! This was their special blend of the month, so we had to try it! I’ve never had a soda themed tea served hot before, but it really worked here. I could distinctly taste the cola flavor as well as the cherry. The black tea was the perfect base for it. It was super tasty with sugar and milk! We considered buying some, but we have enough caffeinated teas already.
This tea tastes incredible! It’s so desserty and perfectly spiced. It was great warm with milk and sugar. It’s supposed to taste like pineapple upside down cake, and I can see that! I rarely come across a cake tea that actually tastes like cake, but this totally does. This was definitely my favorite blend from October’s afternoon tea.
We recently enjoyed a Hocus Pocus themed afternoon tea at Ivy Tearoom, which was very thematic and fun, though my least favorite in terms of food. It was really hard to choose which of their fun seasonal teas to try! My partner called this one “appley and throat coaty”. I found it to be pretty standard, but pleasant. The base is decently hearty, and I taste an array of spices. Clove and ginger are probably the strongest.
This is pleasantly desserty! I wouldn’t call it carrot cake, but I definitely taste the spices. After eating something super sweet in our dessert course, my partner and I turned to each other and at the same time said that now we could taste the carrot cake! It just needed something to bring it out. I’ve had much tastier carrot cake teas, so I wouldn’t prioritize this one. It was nice, but it didn’t stand out.
I recently enjoyed another lovely visit to Ivy Tearoom. This tea was Forever Nuts-ish, though not as tasty as other versions. There’s a bit of a weird flavor here. It’s nutty, but not exciting. Good with milk and sugar. It was probably our least favorite tea of the meal.
Wow this legitimately tastes like apple cake! The quality of the apple reminds me of apple juice also. It’s lightly spiced and great warm with milk and sugar. I’m sure the walnuts help the dessertiness too. This was by far our favorite tea, and we’re already looking forward to trying next month’s afternoon tea!
We tried out another afternoon tea spot in town! The food was delicious, and they blend their own teas! We got to pick three to go with our tiers of treats. This one tastes like peach rings! It’s definitely a fake peach, but it’s still enjoyable. I didn’t notice the caramel that was supposed to be there. It was one-note, but nice warm with milk and sugar. I bet it would be pleasant iced too, though maybe the fakeness would come out even more like that.
The name of this tea reminds me of the movie Home… Now I want Tangerine Twist and Busta Lime!
