drank Wild Cherry by Cornelia Bean

After taking repeated sniffs of the dry leaf i swear it smells faintly of chocolate but theres no chocolate in here according to the ingredient list. So i sniffed it again. maybe it smells like really concentrated dry fruit. I love the smell! I smelled the wet leaves too but I’m not getting any cherry off those. Just tea and a faint floral aroma.

At 1.5 tsp for 2 minutes with near boiling water, this tea can put hair on your chest. Ok, maybe just my chest. Liquor is a clear, deep reddish brown. Sadly, not too much cherry in the 1st steep, sweetened, hot version. Moderately astringent. Slight cherry aftertaste but still more floral than anything else. Loong aftertaste. In go some ice cubes and more sugar while water boils for 2nd steep. Not a whole lot of change between hot and iced version. Aroma doesn’t really match the nose in my opinion (Note to self: 1.5 tsp of this is too much tea for me).

2nd steep: Less astringent, thank goodness, I was going to get me some tweezers! Still searching for cherry. Nope. Not here.

While I am thankful it doesn’t have fake cherry flavour, I would not in a million years know this was a cherry tea in a blind tasting. I either need more practice or there’s only enough cherry in here so we cal call it cherry but not so we can taste the cherry. Although there are dried cherries in the dry leaf, I saw one. Ok, I actually licked it. Hey, It’s my tea, I can do what I want!

Thank you, Dexter3657 for the marvel of a box you sent my way, including this one.

This smells great, and looks great. There are large pieces of dried cherries in with the black tea. When steeped there is some cherry flavor but not as much as I would like. I do have some cherry fruit blend that I may add to this next time to give it more of a cherry punch. All in all was good just not great.

drank Frangelica Rooibos by Cornelia Bean

MMMMMMMMmmmmmmmmmmm!!!!!!!!! Imagine Frangelico Liqueur in a fancy coffee shop latte. Then imagine that made with Rooibos. It’s wonderful. It’s full of hazelnut/coffee/woody/sweet goodness. I’m not sure it gets much better than this.

drank Mate Macchiato by Cornelia Bean

There’s just something about Mate and Coffee that I adore. This is a pretty good example of a Mate/coffee tea. It’s hard to describe, and it took a couple of cups to grow on me, but this has a real chance of becoming one of my favorites.

drank Caramel Oolong by Cornelia Bean

I have been desperately seeking a replacement for the discontinued “Creamy Nut Oolong” from Teaopia. While this isn’t it, it is getting closer than some others oolongs I’ve tried. This is more nutty/woodsy than Quangzhou Milk Oolong from Davids Tea, but still not as much as I would like. This has just a hint of caramel, really more just a hint of sweet than caramel. I will drink this, it’s not bad, just does not compare to my much loved Creamy Nut Oolong. The search continues.

This is a good, basic vanilla tea. I would have liked for the vanilla taste to be a bit more present, but it’s still a great tea. It’s not overly sweet, and I tried it with one sugar (and one milk). Will add more tasting notes with more cups!

My brother and sister-in-law picked this one up for me as a Christmas present. It smells beautiful – nice and fruity. However, I don’t like my teas to be overly floral tasting and the lavender in this one shines through in taste (where it doesn’t in scent). Not a terrible tea, but definitely not my favorite.
