A really nice fruity black tea…very similar to blackberry tea with a sort of floral note and a hint of tartness at the end.

Very cute fun tea to look at…pink elephants. Anyways a coworker brought this in for us to try. I brewed it for approx 4 mins or so. I didn’t add anything else in it. Tasted like tea mixed with weak coffee to me. Someone else tried it and said she didn’t taste the coffee but the tea had a slightly sweet and bitter flavour and another person said it tasted roasted. It’s interesting how everyone tastes different things in this tea. Anyways fun to have tried it.

Mmm… followed the directions on the package for my first taste of this tea:
Boiling water 1 tbsp of leaves to 8oz, quick rinse of leaves, 1 min steep. Nice lightly toasted scent and flavour with oolong “notes” then I did a second infusion with 2 min steep. A little less of the toasty and more of the greener oolong notes. All in all so far an excellent oolong, great price and amazing service! Can’t wait to try the others I bought!

Interesting mix…a bit of green tea, black tea and rooibos. Not much fruity flavour in my mix. I brewed it as a green tea to be safe, but am getting a slightly bitter taste; not something I would add to my cupboard.

Mmmm a very nice tasting and affordable genmaicha! I have been drinking this for years. Everyone tells me genmaicha is the Japanese “poor man’s tea” but who cares it tastes great and I love the roasted rice flavour!

I’ve been using this for about a month now and still use it everyday! Love it! I still wouldn’t tip it upside down to brew however…it leaks sometimes still. But as in a previous review by Hesper June I too have sometimes been brewing tea in it! Since I don’t have a gongfu teapot or a gaiwan, this seemed perfect (technically a bit big) for gongfu brewing but it does the job and I don’t spend more money:)

I am not going to try and describe this because it’s description is wonderfully done, but I will say that I am super impressed with how many steeps I am able to get from this! I gather because I am new to this type of black tea I must drink it quite weak…1/2 pack of this tea made me enough tea for 4 of us! I look forward to trying more!
Also meant to say that I made this to compare it to the Laoshan Black, both are good and I am not able to describe the differences too well. I will have to do that in the future.

My first ever Chinese black tea….mmm. I won’t try to describe it because I don’t have enough experience with them and everyone else’s description here is so good! If this is what Chinese blacks are like I am going to have to try more :)

I have tried this a few times now once as a to go cup and a few times at home with the very generous sample my sister gave me. Not bad. Chocolatey mint flavour but again would like more taste of the base. I think my taste buds must be very different from most others because this is one of my sister’s favourite teas!

I am pretty new to trying different types of loose leaf teas. Growing up we only ever had Chinese restaurant tea or bagged orange pekoe. Later on I tried genmai cha at the Japanese restaurants and added that permanently to my tea cupboard.

So far, I like oolongs and black. Most often I drink straight teas but I do like some flavoured ones as long as they don’t taste fakey or chemically. I would like to try more greens, whites and more Rooibos’ as well as anything that doesn’t have caffeine in it to add to my cupboard.

An attempt at a rating system:
90-100 worthy of being permanently stocked in my cupboard
80-89 great tea would love to have in my tea cupboard but probably in smaller quantities
70-79 very nice tea but I don’t necessarily have to have it
60-69 will drink it but not choose to stock it
50-59 prefer not to drink it unless it is all I have
<50 total miss for my tastes
