drank Citron Green by Adagio Teas

I did use more tea than recommended (3 tsp) so this may account for my mediocre reaction. My first impression was it tasted like Citronella smells. I didn’t like it. I worked to finish it but as I worked on the cup, my dislike lessened and fell into just okay. I notice that I liked it better on the second steep which suggests that I made it too strong. I liked the quality of the leaves themselves and they opened up beautifully. I don’t know if I would go out of my way to purchase it again because citrus based tea isn’t my first like. It came with a sample pack and I’m looking forward to trying the others.

I really like this chai. It was sampled at the Greenhouse in West Hartford, CT where I bought it from. My introduction to chai tea was an add water and stir experience with “Oh my chai” from Tastefully Simple. It was an interesting blend of flavors I’d never had, but I really liked, but really sweet. This reminded me of that but milder probably due to the natural ingredients used. No one component screamed at me but was represented. Until it is dethroned, this will be my go to chai.

drank Oprah Chai Tea by Teavana

I really wanted to love this. It tasted like cinnamon stick with some other indescribable flavor. Very potent and overwhelming. Maybe if I bought and played with it I could get it to work for me but that is just too much “extra”. I need it to work with little effort. I ordered it from Teavana and my first impression was that I didn’t like it. I was so glad that I didn’t let the impulse bug get me and order it online based on the Youtube reviews and go to the store and buy a cup prepared first. It isn’t awful and I think some people who like bold spice may love it, just not me.

I am new to loose tea which may explain why this appealed so much to me. The cherry flavor is pronounced and I found it pleasing and almost too sweet when sampled at store. I intend to buy more. I drank it hot and at room temperature. Haven’t iced it down yet but believe it would do well either way. I steeped it 3 times and I think that may have been too much but I still enjoyed each strength.

I live in Connecticut and drive a school bus. I like mixed media art and most recently adult coloring books. I got into loose teas via Teavana but desire a less commercial experience and also want to improve my well being both inside and out. I recently found the Green tea house in West Hartford and have ongoing questions so this site really excites me.
