Yum! Deliciously tart and sweet, almost like biting into a blueberry. Lovely way to start the morning after breakfast. I do wish I steeped this for longer, as the flavour feels like it could be stronger when it’s not.

I must say I’m impressed, though. I was extremely skeptical about this flavour. I’ve had bad experiences with blueberry in teas before (*cough*Celestial Seasonings*cough*Lipton*cough, cough*) so I wasn’t entirely sure what to expect from this. But sure enough, I’m not left disappointed. I have a feeling this would make a wonderful iced tea.

Went and had a cup of this at DT today.

Upon sipping (even after waiting a good 10 mins), I gracefully immediately scalded my mouth hereby ruining any chance of me actually being able to taste anything properly for days. Fun. Besides that, though, what I could get was distinct raspberry notes. Very raspberry. Reminded me a bit of a truffle. Coconut made it’s welcome appearance as well, finishing the sip. Mmm. Tropical.

I’m sure it would have been 10 times as wonderful if my mouth wasn’t numb.

I picked up 100g of this at 75% off at Teavana today, thinking I might like this more so than the others I purchased in smaller amounts. The barista there was actually pushing me to get several hundred grams of each of the 7 teas I purchased since the prices were so low and the teas will not be returning once gone. I’m glad I resisted – if I don’t like something I won’t be kicking myself for not spending my money at Davids instead.

So I brewed myself a cup and took a sip…immediately the berry flavor smacks you in the face. I want to say it goes well with the dark chocolate, but it’s just so overbearing! Towards the end of the cup it started to taste bitter, cloying and vile.

This tea definitely needs to be sweetened to be drinkable. Kinda wish I got only 50g now, but I’ll finish it eventually. It’s not THAT bad.

I seem to be getting faint cocoa notes and a teensy little bit of almond and raspberry, although it’s not very strong. Maybe I didn’t put enough tea, or didn’t steep it long enough…I’m certainly feeling jumpy though much as I would with a cup of coffee.

As of right now, I’ll finish off what I have, but it’s not a repurchase.

I wanted to like this, I really did. Tastes absolutely vile, though. It has a chemical, cheap taste to it. Couldn’t finish my cup.

This tastes exactly like biting into a gingerbread cookie. I am in heaven! A near exact replica of a dessert without the calories; who would have guessed? I think my love for tea has just expanded even further.

Running back to Teavana today as I’ve seen their sale prices have gone down even further and I wanna pick up a few discontinuing teas before they’re gone. I wish I could’ve known this yesterday, I would’ve gotten some for even less…oh well.

I have major sale envy – I need more Teavana tins!

Yvonne

Me too! I actually picked up a few today, plus 7 more teas. Now I just need to find more storage space :P

Anna

Look at that forum thread with pictures of how people store their tea for inspiration. I warn you, though, you might end up finding so much space to store tea that you feel obliged to go buy some more…

Just finished sipping this one. Not bad! I really detect the apple in this one. Reminds me of cider, perhaps? Probably not a repurchase for me, anyways.

drank Red Velvet Cake by DAVIDsTEA

Is this ever sweet! And that’s just how I like my tea :P I do definitely get a cakey icing vibe from drinking this. I’m only a few sips in, but I have a feeling this might become cloyingly sweet fast. Nevertheless…I like it! Probably won’t repurchase it though.

Just had a massive haul of about 15 teas from Teavana and Davids. Drinking this right now, and it is beyond delicious. I really taste the hazelnut, and definite cinnamon notes in there as well. Very little fruit flavor, however…makes me wonder why they even put it in?

My favourite mug. Found myself in a DavidsTea one day without really intending to and ended up walking out with this – am I ever glad I did! Mine is white and red with a bird design and it’s adorably simplistic. Super easy to clean and my teas have never tasted so good.

Profile

Bio

My name is Yvonne. I’m 21 and live in a snowy Canadian wasteland known as Manitoba.

I’m relatively new to the loose tea world, although I used to drink generic Red Rose tea constantly. A friend introduced me to a Teavana tea one chilly winter and I got myself slightly intrigued. Went to purchase it myself, used shoddy equipment to prepare it, and was discouraged.

Christmas 2013 rolled around, and despite having an awful holiday for other reasons, I received some of Teavana’s Cha Yen Thai as a gift after asking for chai tea. I went out and bought a proper infuser cup and was instantly hooked. Now my tea collection is steadily growing! I’m obsessed!

I like:
Dessert teas, black teas, oolong, rooibos, pu’erh, mate, chai, chamomile, chocolate, coconut, cinnamon, pineapple, tropical mixes, nutty, sweet, complex flavours, indulgent flavours

I do NOT like:
Green teas, herbal teas, white teas, teas too overbearing with fruit, pure tisane, cloyingly sweet teas, hibiscus, peanuts, burning my mouth

I am lactose intolerant (pretty severely, actually – I do not consume any dairy product) but I find that the miniscule amounts of dairy found in some teas don’t bother me for the most part.

100 – My absolute favourite teas. Without them, I will cry salty tears of despair.

99 – 95 – Cream of the crop, although missing SOMETHING to make them a perfect favourite. Not something I couldn’t possibly live without, but pretty darn close. Lots of teas in this category tend to reach 100 eventually.

95 – 75 – Yummy, but if it disappeared tomorrow I’d quietly mourn it for about 15 minutes and move on to a favourite. Leaves something to be desired.

75 – 50 – Passable, but not by much. Something I’d really have to be in the mood for to drink.

50 and lower – Nope nope nope. Not for me. Probably couldn’t or had a hard time finishing the cuppa. Doooown the sink.
