From Old Barrel Tea Co

delicate ∙ floral ∙ playful

This blend is fresh and floral with bold cherry notes! It reminds of the cherry blossoms in Japan that blossom in the spring. It supports healthy mental function, boosts wellness, and is rich in antioxidants.

Ingredients: green tea, rosehips, rose, jasmine, natural flavor, hibiscus

Steepster 2025 TTB Team

While I was hopeful that this would be a nice well rounded floral tea, I found it very rose-heavy in a perfumy way. I do like rose, but this is too much rose for something called cherry blossom. I do get fruity cherry notes, astringent green with some vegetal notes, and a touch of jasmine. I would have preferred something less artificial tasting and a less bitter green base. I added milk and let it cool, which was a huge improvement to having this straight and hot.

TTB! I removed as many rose petals as I could since I’m not a huge rose fan, and I’m glad I did because this ended up pretty enjoyable! I’m drinking this cold, and it’s a little fruity and floral on quite a smooth green base. The main flavor is still rose, so I wouldn’t prefer much more of this.

I hate this kind of tea ha ha, pretending to be cherry blossom but actually candy cherry and rose. Boo! XD

TTB 2025. Since the first Old Barrel Tea Co. blend was so tasty, I decided to go for another one. At first I thought I might have messed up the steeping parameters because all I’m getting is a big hit of cherry cough syrup. But then I looked at the other tasting notes and they say similar things! So I’m comfortable saying this is a no for me.

This is from Cameron B!  Thanks yet again!  This is a cherry and rose flavored green tea that should also have jasmine.   I went real gentle on that first steep to not let the base take over for these flavors.  On the first steep, I’m really only tasting cherry, and it’s not really a good tasting cherry… more like cough drops.  I really don’t taste any rose or jasmine here.  It’s cough drops all the way. But LUCKILY also no notes of hibiscus here either.  So that’s a plus.  The blend sure does look beautiful in the tin though.  I’m usually a fan of whatever cherry teas Cameron decides to move along (there have been a few)…. but this one is only okay and not my favorite.
Steep #1 // 1 1/2 teaspoons for a full mug // 30 minutes after boiling // 1 minute steep
Steep #2 // 28 minutes after boiling // 2 min

I’m always a little bummed when flavors are advertised as cherry blossom and it’s really just cherry or rose, which are both totally different flavors.

Cameron B.

I really hate fake cherry blossom flavored things ha ha, only the real deal for me.

Sadly, I think the blenders thought cherry fruit and rose petals would create a cherry blossom flavor. :/

I love that I’ve found my tribe of cherry blossom purists! LOL!

From the summer subscription box.

I expected to dislike this, but figured I would give it a chance. True to form, I don’t like it. XP

It’s not its fault though, I’m not generally a fan of cherry flavoring, and these fakey sakura teas always taste like powdery cherry candy to me. So into the rehoming box it goes! :P

:( how long did you steep it for, I haven’t tried it yet and I don’t like cherry flavor either.

Cameron B.

I generally steep green teas at 175 for 2 minutes. The cherry wasn’t horribly strong, just not my preference. :P
