What the heck is "heath flower" and what's it good for?

Okay, I found this as a listed ingredient in one of Lupicia’s teas. But why? What does it taste like? What even is it? Common heath, from Australia? Epacris impressa? Wiki says that’s hard to cultivate, so I’m surprised to find it as an ingredient. And I could not discern any flavor to attribute to it. Is it merely a garnish, like blue cornflower? Anyone care to enlighten me? TIA ;-)

Heath flower is usually refering to heather (Ericaceae, often Calluna or Erica genera). Calluna vulgaris is used in some old recipes (as dye or flavouring) so probably the one used in tea is the same species.

Aaahhh, a history well-suited to this usage!

You’re pretty bang on with the cornflower comparison – it’s almost always a visual inclusion.

Gotta keep up appearances!
