My first taste of the TTB…yay! If there was a wine that was coconut and chocolate flavored and you drank it hot…it would soooo taste like this. :)
It’s sweet and chocolatey smooth with averaged-in coconut and a natural milky-type taste over top of the black tea. It’s nice. It’s a treat. It’s what’s for lunch :P
We’ve only known each other for a short time – I will always consider you my friend – you will be missed…
I’m finishing up what’s in my stash today because it seems one of the steepster tea trends for the day is Coconut…I’m game.
Which brings me to a thought…should we start a daily trend and post it in the discussion section and see who wants to play each day!? Hummmm…just a thought…
Nah… I had the coconut cream pie yesterday because you inspired me (didn’t log though, too lazy). I think I’m personally more likely to be inspired by noticing a trend myself than by having one suggested.
Although it was fun a while ago where it seemed like one trend took over after the other. I remember the Almond Avalanche and the Blueberry Blitz. :) There was a peach one too, but I can’t for the life of me recall what we named it!
Just received an envelop of tea from a fellow steepster!!! So…this cup will be my last before I try some of my new ones! Infused a little less amount wise today because I wanted enough for one more before running out of my stash. It’s lighter but still really yummy.
As Bethany said…And another JacquelineM tea.
Thanks!
This is true to the description because it’s very much roasted/toasted Coconut Flavored Black Tea. Aromatic, Warm, just GOOD, period! I’m enjoying this tea a great deal.
I infused a little less than my normal amount of this because it looks like I can get one more cup after this…didn’t want to run out quite yet, ya know!? Even with the amount of loose leaf different it’s still wonderful. I always drink my tea plain but I wonder what this would taste like with Almond Milk…since it is quite almondy…I love me some ALmond Milk on cereal…hum…might have to try just because…
I have never tried an almond tea but find the idea enticing. Would you recommend this one in particular?
Received this in a tea swap. It’s tasty. It’s mostly almond in smell and taste and a little cinnamon but it’s fairly sweet too. It’s different from the Almond Cookie one that MandyB sent me a while back. I like them both but they are both different.
Every night, I ask my husband, “What kind of tea are you in the mood for?” and every night, he says, “You pick!!” Well, tonight was a rare occasion! He said “Chocolate/Coconut!” Of course I made it! I poked around in the bag and made sure there were plenty of truffle chunks in the tea basket so that it would be an extra delicious cup…and it is :) Super chocolatey! A little sugar and a splash of milk to bring out the dessert qualities.
Preparation
Double portion, milk and sugar!
Long day out taking photos. We grabbed some Chinese takeout for dinner, then settled down for biiiiiig cups of this :) Silky chocolatey goodness. Again, the coconut is not very present. I always feel like I’m drinking good tea that someone put a chopped up Godiva chocolate into (hey…has anyone ever done that!??!!)!
Preparation
I was arranging my teas at home after getting some samples together for TeaEqualsBliss, and unearthed this! I forgot I even had it after getting so many new teas recently!
This is a super flavorful dessert tea. There are flakes of toasted coconut and hunks of truffle in with Chinese black tea. Once brewed, it tastes like a chocolate liquor (no cocoa about it!) with a very faint coconut in the background. If I didn’t see that it said coconut on the package, I would be hard put to name exactly what that toasty warm background flavor was. I put it right up front in the place of honor in the cupboard – this tea is too delicious to get forgotten about!!!!
Preparation
I’m in an excellent mood this morning and I’m not sure why. Today is my best work buddy’s last day at the office, which should be making me sad. But I got a new MyTouch phone last night and I am LOVING it. Hey Steepster, can we get an Android app?
Sample’s almost gone (notice a trend here?). JacquelineM, I will probably be in touch with you soon about a full size..
And another JacquelineM tea.
Wow.
This is heads and shoulders above the only other coconut black tea that I’ve tried, Adagio’s. I like the idea of combining coconut with Nilgiri tea instead of Adagio’s Ceylon. The taste is improved tenfold. And this has more of a toasted coconut taste than Adagio’s version – not sure if that’s due to the Nilgiri, or if it actually uses toasted coconut.
Either way, it’s really, really good. I may have to order a full size. Yummmm.
Also, since this shop is just a hop, skip, and a jump from my workplace, let me know if you want me to pick you up some and do some trading when the time comes :) The online prices are a tad higher than the in store prices, I’ve noticed.
@Jacqueline Um, I’m pretty sure I’m going to take you up on that offer sooner rather than later. I’ve been dreaming about another cup of this all day. It’s definitely going to become a morning staple – I’d really like to try mixing it with Adagio’s Cream!
I’ll probably shoot you an e-mail in the next few weeks and we can work out something through PayPal. :)
