Pretty store, nice place to get a cup and chill out. I too was concerned about their tea storage methods – they protect the teas from air, but not light in see-through containers. Their prices are very fair, and I spoke to the manager who seemed into tea and like she knew a lot about tea. However, some of what she knew about tea and some of what I’ve learned seemed to be fairly different. But if you’re on your way through downtown Lawrence, it’s worth a stop.

Nice little shop, has a variety of teas, and the staff is very knowledgeable. Also teaches classes. No on-line ordering, and their web site needs a lot of work. But I’ll enjoy going here from time to time.

Updated my rating because their new web site is on-line for ordering. I really like this place. They also provide tins for all purchases over 2 oz. Which is wonderful. (I don’t know if they’ll do this for mailorder, but I’d assume so.)

Bio

I’ve got a lot of interests: sushi, science fiction/fantasy, medieval recreation, cooking (specifically medieval cooking), reading, British science fiction (Doctor Who!), hand sewing and now TEA!!

My favorites tend to be oolongs and flavored black teas. I like highly flavored teas more than delicate ones. Rooibos tends to taste like dirt to me, and hibiscus is very sour to my palate. But I’m always up to try all sorts of things, and will often find things that I really like which I thought I’d hate.
