Straight this time in multiple short infusions. Unfortunately that meant not much flavour with each.. probably stick to strong with milk/cream at least for 1st round

So I have yet to try a Ceylon black tea that I really, really like – I think maybe it’s just one variety that doesn’t have the characteristics I’m looking for in my tea. I prefer a more full-bodied malty taste like Assam, or with some other interesting characteristics like Keemun or Yunnan Gold (Black Needles).

I can’t say it’s bad, but I can’t say I love it either.

Was hoping this tea would help me get more into Earl Grey (and flavoured teas in general, for that matter) – Twinings’ blend just wasn’t doing it for me – and the experience was a success.

Now I definitely know what bergamot tastes like and why it goes well with tea, but at the same time the “premium black teas” still shone through and the quality was there even on the second steeping.

(Backlogging from last night)

Prepared a pot for me and the gf – both of us loved it again. Another word I’d use is rich. To support the “sweet” descriptor and maybe add “citrusy” a friend of ours said it smelled like Earl Grey. Simply left the leaves in the pot, “chinese style”, and this tea does NOT get bitter :)

Not bad for bagged tea. Flowery, grassy, mild.

Disclaimer: I have yet to try a loose white tea. This is my first non-flavoured white tea.

I feel like I can’t come up with enough words to describe how much I love this tea…

Creamy, sweet, honey, a little bit peppery, sometimes a slight earthy note, and just all around YUMMM :)

Now to go prepare my second infusion…

Yum. That’s about all I want to say about this infusion. I consider myself a bit of a purist – my current tastes are set at straight black tea and I’m exploring the different varieties of that. I had a sample of this laying around from a gift basket we got at Christmas and I just wanted to add a little variety to my day.

I want to start trying the different varieties of green/oolong/white teas soon and I won’t let this be my introduction to green tea.

I must say that they did do a decent job blending these flavours into a nice mellow slightly minty brew. I would drink it again if someone offered it to me.

About 2sp, first infusion with cream about 3 mins, malty/tasty as usual.

2nd infusion left in for a while and still not bitter, a very pleasant taste indeed.

Still impressed with this blend and I know why it is popular all around the world.
