Pros: This tea maker strains even the finest tea without any leaves or debris escaping into the cup. It doesn’t leak at all. It is durable and perfect for travel. It has perfect visibility for tea leaves within. And lastly, it makes brewing tea incredibly easy.

The cons: This tea maker is, regrettably, plastic. My reasons for this being an issue are less due to the health risks of brewing black tea at boiling point in plastic, but more so of the fact that plastic is extremely absorbent of flavors and scents. Brew one chai tea in this thing and all your future delicate white teas and green teas have a aftertaste of spices. That being said, if you intend to use this tea maker, then intend to use it for one type of tea. My second con on this item would be the difficulty with which to clean this tea maker.

Easy to clean and screen works really well even with fine tea. Can’t imagine a better way to steep and enjoy a cup a tea at work. Fantastic device.

This is my favorite way to make tea these days. I’m thinking about getting a second one just to keep at work. I find this easier to clean than my strainer, a quick swish of water and the leaves will usually come out.

This is one of my favorite and best (in my opinion) way to brew my tea. It is durable, doesn’t leak, doesn’t crack or doesn’t do anything bad. It’s really easy to use and works for all types of tea. It’s also pretty cool when you see all the leaves floating around and the darker tea at the bottom. Also, it is really easy to use and fits directly over any mug. I’ve had no troubles cleaning it or using it. I highly recommend for all beginners or people looking for a cheap, easy way to brew tea.

I love this thing! I bought mine a couple years ago, so I have the older model. My only complaints were that its a little hard to clean the mesh if the tea gets clogged in there and it didn’t have any measuring marks on it (I got the two cup model, but didn’t always need to make two cups). But it seems they have put out a new and improved model where you can take the mesh out and clean it!
But it’s great! Super easy to use, makes a great cup o tea!

i just felt obliged to add that i’ve been using this puppy now for over a year on a pretty much daily basis, and it is still going strong. i’ve taken it apart and scrubbed it out with a scrubby brush a few times, run it through the dishwasher once or twice (i think), mostly just rinse it out with soapy water when it needs cleaning. LOVE this little workhorse, and i wanted to add another note about its seeming longevity! (course, this means it will fall apart tomorrow, right?)

and if it falls apart tomorrow, i’d go right out and buy another one. immediately.

I’ve used a cajillion steepers, but this is the best one I’ve ever used. It can steep multiple servings at once and combined with a timer, you dump in your tea leaves and water and just walk away. I was afraid I’d have to use Teavana’s wide-mouth glass mug for this to fit, but it fits all the mugs I have with no drips or spills. Cleaning is tricky, but I just fill it up with water and toss the whole mess out the kitchen window or in the toilet.
