Bubble Teapot (24 oz) from DAVIDsTEA

Bubble Teapot (24 oz)

You can stop looking now. This is the teapot of your dreams. It’s not flashy or fussy, just clean, dependable, and stylish. It has a fitted infuser with 0.3mm holes that will keep smaller leaves from sifting through while giving larger leaves room to expand. When your tea is steeped, just lift the infuser out of the teapot so it doesn’t get too strong. It makes the perfect pot every time, and looks darn good while doing it. What more could you ask for? Microwave and dishwasher safe. (capacity: 24oz/700ml)

i know it sounds strange, but i didn’t really understand teapots until we were finishing up some home renovations.

i was always like, why would i brew that quantity of ANY tea at one time? i have a hard time drinking 12oz still warm, i could NEVER drink more without it turning chilled.

but when we were renovating and i was staying up late painting walls at all hours, i could brew a full pot and then pour a small cup, drink it, pour a small cup, drink it, pour a small cup, drink it etc etc over a longish period of time and it was usually still hot/warm.

sure there are better methods for all of this. definitely. but at least the teapot isn’t useless haha! and most importantly it is PRETTY. :)

i have the winter tree bubble teapot along with 4 bubble cups. the teapot is fairly thick and has a rubber kind of seal on the lid and these two traits i guess tends to keep the heat in.
i have other teapots that aren’t as insulated that would NEVER keep tea warm, but this one does a pretty good job at least.

and THAT’S when i was like Ohhhhhh I Get It Now.

i’m glad i bought this in my early days of tea fandom. and it’s still in frequent use today.

Such a pretty teapot! I could buy dozens of teapots. I like to stare at them in museums. Teapot teapot teapot.

it retains the heat well? i too don’t understand teapots.

I don’t understand them either. I use them if I plan to drink 26 oz of one tea, which is rarely the case, or just when I want to look at my TARDIS pot. It just seems more practical to steep in my cup.

The winter pot is pretty though!

An excellent teapot – it pours well, is easy to clean, and is just the right size for a 2-3 mugs worth of tea. The infuser is sturdy, and since its perforated steel instead of wire mesh, it’s much easier to clean, and doesn’t discolour as easily.

There are only 2 things wrong with this teapot, and both of them involve the lid: 1) The “stem” that forms the handle on the lid is hollow, so if you want to lift up the lid, it will get too hot to pick up easily. 2) There is no hole in the lid to equalize the pressure from pouring out the tea. If the lid is on in just the wrong angle, the tea will come out in spurts rather than as a smooth, steady pour.
