Raspberry Earl

It smells increadible in the tin! That said, once brewed, the raspberry flavor wasn’t as apparent as I’d hoped it would be, but it was still a tasty cuppa Earl Grey. I prepared it the same way I do all other Earl Greys. Sweetened with suger (raw this time) and a splash of milk. Despite the not so apparent raspberry taste, no regrets on having picked this up.

I’m a big fan of Earl Grey anyway, but with the addition of raspberry, it’s even better. The raspberry balances out the bergamot rather nicely.

My love of this tea is entirely my friend Victoria’s fault. She bought it first — we bought bought different teas actually from a store in our town, and she got this one and another… I actually forget which ones I bought. Anyway. So she had it at her house. And I had some of it. And fell in love.

There is a hint of a raspberry lemonadey taste to it, but overall it’s just a pleasant, slightly sweet, fruit and black tea flavour. It’s lovely clear — that’s how I’m drinking it now — or with milk and honey, and it doesn’t oversteep easily. I just enjoy having this tea around. It’s a great thing to drink.

Good earl grey but couldn’t taste the raspberry at all

Still one of my all-time favorites. Love the sweet-tart raspberry flavor with the classic bergamot-black tea combo. Getting harder to find, though. :( Best with sugar, other sweeteners act weird with this one.

2 minute steep this time. Still not getting the raspberry, but at least the Bergamot doesn’t smack you in the face quite as hard. Lowering my rating; there’s much better Earl Grey blends out there.

To be honest, I didn’t care for this tea the first time I brewed it. Then I brewed it for a frighteningly long time, and it made a huge difference. I also like this as a milk tea. I do not think it makes a nice iced tea, though. I do not sweeten my teas as a general rule, though I have wondered if a little honey or cane syrup might improve it as an iced tea. Has anyone tried this?

This was bitter as all-get out. Better with milk and sugar, but not really worth it. It did make the whole house smell lovely, so maybe it will be great steeped, but not consumed.

I also cannot taste the raspberry note in this tea. The Earl Grey combined notes come through just fine without being overpowering, but the headliner for this tea is missing. I wouldn’t buy it again, but not a bad addition to the sampler of Zhena’s Teas it came in.

This has the strangest smell. The bergamot and raspberry combine into an odd bouquet when you sniff it, but it extremely tasty in the cup.
