From Yunnan Sourcing

We are proud to offer a Certified Organic Black Tea from Yunnan. This tea was grown in the area of Simao and was harvested in April.

This Black Tea (金螺红茶) is a Yunkang #10 varietal growing at and altitude 1300 meters (4300 feet) on the southern slope Ma Wei Mountain (just west of Pu’Er City). The processing is typical of black tea with sun withering, rolling, oxidization (about 3 hours) and finally drying.

This is a classic “Robust” style Yunnan Black, with a mix of 1 leaf to 1 bud and 2 leaf to 1 bud plucking style. The taste is strong with some chocolate, fruit and vegetal notes. The leaf and bud composition gives the tea a complex and full-bodied robust taste and mouth-feel. It can be brewed 6 to 8 times gong fu style

Our Yunnan Sourcing Certified Organic teas are certified organic by EcoCert SA and are certified organic to international standards (EcoCert is IFOAM accredited).**
