From Yunnan Sourcing

This is another cake in our “aged as mao cha” series! We’ve chosen Spring 2015 harvested tea from Lao Wu Mountain in Simao prefecture that was aged in loose leaf “mao cha” form warm and humid conditions to press this delightful tea cake!

Lao Wu Mountain is often considered part of the Wu Liang Mountains, although Lao Wu mountain lies at the far southern part of the mountain chain between Meng Da Zhen 勐海大镇 and Xiao Jing Gu Xiang 小景谷乡. The altitude of Lao Wu Mountain is close to 2700 meters, but this particular tea was plucked from mature trees growing at an altitude of 1900 meters.

April 2015 harvest (Pressed March 20th 2020)
80 kilograms in total (224 cakes)
357 grams per cake (7 cakes per bamboo tong)
Stone-Pressed in the traditional manner
Wrapper Design by Anastasiya Grinzovskaya
