From Yunnan Sourcing

Nan Po Zhai is the closest village to Bing Dao village in the county of Mengku. It lies 2km from Bing Dao village in a roadless area filled with centuries old tea trees. Nan Po tea is typically sold as Bing Dao as it’s quite similiar, but not the same. We are happy to offer this incredibly powerful and textured tea from the late Autumn of 2019.

This is the first tea I would reach for when in the mood for a Mengku sheng. I find that it’s a bit more warming, bitter and forest-like than when I tried it earlier. There is a nectar sweetness and notes of spruce, kale, hops, and lime leaves. It also has some coffee acidity and a numbing, metallic aftertaste with additional flavours of custard and honey.
