I found this tea more interesting that the other wild offering from YS. On the nose I get mushrooms, sweet potato, malt, cocoa, slight spice ( allspice ), tree bark, oak moss. Palate; Tangy with some tannin on front of tongue, allspice, wildflower honey, oakmoss, slight mushroom, slight bitter note, settles down nicely after second steeping.

This is one of the teas I keep at work.

This is a very smooth tea with good – but not overpowering – chocolately/malty taste.

It can also ‘take a beating’ – I often oversteep the hell out of it (15-20min+) when I get called away from my desk, and when I come back the tea is dark, rich, and still smooth and tasty.

Got this tea yesterday with my order to Yunnan Sourcing. It is pretty good. While it’s hard for me to gauge the natural sweetness of the tea because I added sugar I think there’s some there. It’s somewhat malty and somewhat chocolaty. It’s quite good overall. I go to work in a few minutes so I have no time to gongfu this. This review is based on a western brew of this tea.

I brewed this tea twice in a 16oz Teavana Glass Perfect Tea Maker/Gravity Steeper with 3 tsp leaf and 200 degree water for 3 min and 4 min. The second steeping I put into a thermos for work.
