From Yunnan Sourcing

Jingmai Mountain area is a large area in the southern part of Lancang county of Simao Prefecture. There are more than 50 villages in the Jingmai mountain range, almost all are involved in tea cultivation and processing. Our Jingmai Wild Arbor tea is made from a naturally occurring Jingmai assamica varietal that is naturally hybridized and smaller in scale than pure assamica.

The tea brews up a chocolate and floral sweetness much like a Zheng Shan Xiao Zhong, but with it’s own unique character.
Spring 2015 harvested!

This is somewhat close to the type of dianhong teas that I drink… but it has somewhat ofa boldness to it that I would refer to as ‘the coffee people’ taste. A bit stronger than I would prefer for my leaf to be. With all that being said, these little leaves dance and brew a nicely flavored tea :)

First up, thank you Boychik for sending me a generous sample of this tea!
I have some on my mega-YS-order, but since I went with the cheapo shipping, it won’t be here for awhile, so this is like a sneak preview!

And I like it! I’m not really sure how to describe it, however…
Chocolate? I’m thinking dark chocolate and malt, mixed into water…
That sounds terrible, but it’s not, LOL. There’s other flavors in there too…toasted nuts, not sure what kind right now, and it’s sweet too! And very Electric! Yes, I’m buzzing nicely, which is just what I need because I have things to do!
I went with the quicky this morning, because I don’t have time to sit around gongfuing it every day, so here’s my formula: 1 Tb + mug X 3min/5min resteep.
I think that mug holds 10 or 12 oz…I guess someday I’ll measure it…

So glad you like it !

Thanks to boychik for a generous sample, of which I got to enjoy two sessions with this tea. It reminds me of a cross between Drunk on Red from YS and Bangdonghong from W2T. It has a bit of raspberry fruitiness, and a little spiciness. Very nice tea, and I wouldn’t mind having more in my cupboard.

This tea is strong with the note people refer to as chocolate. I say it that way because it doesn’t taste like chocolate in the same sense as chocolate. It’s not like a cup of hot cocoa but it does have the note people look for in black tea. There is a slightly lesser note of malt too. This is a very good tea at an excellent price. I forget exactly what I paid but I got it on sale so I got it for even less.

I brewed this one time in a 16oz Teavana Glass Perfect Tea Maker/Gravity Steeper with 3 tsp leaf and boiling water for 3 min.

Flavors: Chocolate, Malt

Preparation
Boiling 3 min, 0 sec 3 tsp 16 OZ / 473 ML

This stuff is full of chocolatey awesomesauce. It goes the distance in my gaiwan too. I got it as a sample with my recent order. It’s rare that I find a tea I like this much that is so inexpensive.

Flavors: Chocolate, Floral, Nutty, Sweet

Preparation
Boiling 0 min, 30 sec 6 g 5 OZ / 150 ML
