1st steep: tastes like a more robust “purple tea” without the tannins of a purple tea. Starchy characteristics. I don’t normally notice the leaves, but with this tea, the leaves have a sharp but wonderful ‘squash’ smell. The tea flavor itself reminds me of pumpkin soup (not pumpkin spice). “Sweet Potato” is an accurate name. Very hearty and thick. Not fruity. Retains the same flavor and texture for at least 3 steeps.
