From white2tea

The return of our 2020 hit Yunnan shai hong, sun dried black tea made from a bud heavy picking.

Fox Down is a thick and malty black tea with a full bodied texture and supple sweetness. It brews well with any style, whether you are using a deft touch with gongfu brewing or tossing into your hot water bottle to take out into the world. A truly wonderful daily black tea.

Pressed in 2021. Each cake is 200g. The cakes are in bamboo tongs, with five cakes per tong.

Sipdown! (22 | 58)

Really enjoyed this one. It’s very malty and smooth, but also has a wonderful honeyed fruit sweetness to it. There are some raisiny notes, maybe dates, even a bit of a dried cherry thing going on. Plus it also has some deep caramelized sugar character as well, along with aromatic wood and a touch of earthy, musty hay. The texture is also quite thick and satisfying, which makes it a great morning cuppa.

All around just a lovely tea. I wouldn’t call it super complex, but it makes for a wonderful daily drinker, and I would consider ordering a full cake.

I’m glad you enjoyed that one. It was bit too earthy for me when I first tried it, but I used all my coin gong fu and with 7 ish oz.

I’m lazy so I always steeped it Western-style… :P

We brew lots of tea gong fu style, but this tea screamed western style, please! Fox Down has become one of our all-time favorite black teas. We steep it for five minutes in a teapot, and drink with milk that has been warmed. Now that we’ve bought a tong, and the minis (coins) we drink this tea often. Aromatic, malty, smooth with a sweet syrup and cherry tones. The taste lingers and we find ourselves smelling the leaves, wet or dry, as the scent is delightful. And the packaging? Hard to beat.
